  • @mojozart ~ You TOTALLY Rock..... I pulled 'Hey Metronome' app over, on top of AUM over to the side, just like you demonstrated. That'll work.

I do hope some app dev guru would consider making something. I know there's not an insanely large market, but if it's simple to make I do believe those traditional instrumentalists (guitarists, violinists, etc.) using AUM would buy it.

You might want to write to the AUM developer and suggest an option for a more visual beat indicator than the current pulsing of the tempo indicator.

  • Well, I for one am relieved that there is finally something that Drambo can't do

Just get a cheap Launchpad Mini, load Drambo as an AUv3 in AUM and let it send whatever colorful animation, flashing or rotation you want to show in sync with the beat. I did similar stuff two weeks ago 😊

    Agreed.

    Here’s an example.

It's rare to see a visual demonstration with background music that even tops the visual experience. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Sorry @Simon, please try again 😉

  • It is @espiegel123 who rocks TOTALLY

  • Yes…. it would be a good idea to get to the AUM developers and ask to put either a larger/brighter beat light or flasher; and/or to add something plugin wise to flash the beat.

    I’ll do that

Thankfully I'm not a developer. My UI design skills leave something to be desired...

  • @wim c’mon….you can spell “UI”, and that’s a start

😂 Now that’s how you flash to the beat.

  • @vmusic, do you have/use a midi controller? If so, which one, because it would be a super simple mozaic script to get an LED to flash on it, onbeat/in tempo

  • Hi..... FRIST..... I use Xtone by XSonic as my MIDI controller. I do not know if Xtone can actually receive MIDI back from AUM?

SECOND.... I heard back from a guy ay Kymatica. Someone on this forum post suggested asking them to put a feature request in. He replied and said the idea is GREAT. He'll slot it in somewhere. So - yeah..... it'll take time, but great news.

Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to read/post or suggest ideas.

One more time: the ask and the use - a beat flasher (it flashes the beat in sync with AUM’s set tempo). Yes - ideally I wouldn’t have to have the app or plugin even opened up to see the beat flash, so yeah I guess it would be the app Icon flashing. I assume the app or plugin would be in some channel and probably it’s output wouldn’t go anywhere. I am only using it to clearly see and “feel” the set tempo in AUM.

I will consider writing a simple flashing AU plugin, and also add an option for flashing something in AUM (perhaps the top bar? I guess it would be too distracting to flash the entire screen/background?)

But, there's no way for a plugin to flash its own icon, sorry.

Isn't that what they call Jeffrey Toobin?

Close... that was the "Flash Beater" app that apple pulled from the store.

Flashing the top bar would be good -- and perhaps pulsing the background slightly too (i.e. higher contrast for the top bar than for the background).
