    It’s pretty radical.

  • A cool patch in Volcano is the kick synthesis patch. With all these different filter models there's a lot of room for different resonant kicks.

Is there a way to link filter bands together like in Volcano 2? (It shows up as a line between the two and they move in unison)
I couldn’t find any presets that do that, nor any control.

I still have quite a bit to learn with all the fabfilter plugs, so maybe it’s right under my nose.

Draw a box around the filters you want to link then move them. I think. Haven’t had time to use this one yet, but thats how its usually worked.

That works as a temporary selection for manual moving, but unfortunately not the linking I was thinking of, where you can modulate the link(s). I found it a useful QOL feature for locking a particular relationship between bands.

(edit) I don’t see anything about it on the online help section, so I’m assuming it hasn’t yet made it over to Volcano 3 from 2.

  • Man this is a good one. Peace out Auria, finally!

No, it’s just an old quality of life feature that apparently hasn’t been included in the new Volcano. Not a huge deal, it’s an excellent plugin regardless.

Volcano 2’s linking feature is demoed at 2:30 in the following tutorial:

  • Just lol’ed at the new Dan Worrall vid. He really drops the mic at one point. Don’t wanna ruin it

I wonder if they’ll ever revive their excellent synths, or at least Twin 2? That’s the one remaining thing I’ll occasionally dip into Auria Pro for. It’s not as vital now that we have Synthmaster 1/2, but Twin’s interface is still such a pleasure to use and it sounds amazing.

Yeah, I kinda have a feeling Twin 3 will be their next endeavor. The only things that haven’t been updated to the modern FF look (the extra good-looking frequency displays) are Twin 3, Pro-MB, Pro-DS, and Pro-G. While the latter 3 have their uses, I say bring on the fun stuff. How much better can a Gate or de-esser truly get?

Edit: I guess Pro-C2 could also be due an update, released in 2015.

  • I’m workin on a little tribute to “Sphere of Sublime Dances” by Jordan de la Sierra (with 3 carefully crafted synths instead piano) and Volcano is gonna perfect at keeping things lively for a 25-minute track.

I like that FabFilter creates iOS versions of each plugin as they upgrade them to v3. Smart strategy!

  • I could think of tons of cool things that would make pro-G even better but I won’t get into that here

It’s one of my favorite yet - I’m gonna pause the vid and see if I can recreate it, cuz I already did something similar (in a very elementary way lol) just using sidechained pro-g and Pro-C 2, but I had no idea what else was possible

If we’re talking about the same moment, which I’m sure we are lol

Did you watch the video? It’s very clearly different from the routing feature.

@ambrosiajam I really don't see how routing is the same as linking the filters so they always move together

@Eschatone it's not really the same, especially because of the lack of visual feedback, but one workaround is to use the modulation section (Slider or XY) to control more than one filter

Ohhhh sorry I misunderstood. You can still link them to together in volcano 3, at least I have been able to move multiple filters around the same way I always do in all the other fabfilter plugins?

As far as guaranteeing that they stay within the same proximity of one another, I guess there are other workarounds that would work, but the fabfilter folks seem pretty open - maybe if you ask them they will let you know directly?

Yep, that definitely can be done, it’s just not a persistent link. As @Eschatone said, it’s a convenience feature

  • Maybe making an X/Y pad could fix it? Or using something from the Rosetta suite?

And we have a winner!

    Wiener! Gagnon!

  • Wow, for $3 this was a no-brainer

  • Ugh….. was trying to resist…. But at $10 to complete my bundle…. :D
    Stoked!

For me the bundle upgrade is free, totally awesome or should I say Fabbulous :sunglasses:

  • Hm, might have to yoink my 20 bucks back and rebuy at $5. Honestly didn’t expect them to bundle this. Anyone know if you get a refund, can you now re-buy immediately, or if it totally screws with the bundle price?

And no I’m not a cheapskate, but $20 is $20 in this case and I’ve already bought most of these twice now amongst Auria and standalone.

  • Got it for 5,01€ 😳 that was an instabuy :)
