May I suggest Lenord Nimoy I walk the Line to spruce up your collection.

Big Meddle-era Floyd fan over here. However, over the last couple days, Truckfighters have consumed much of my listening.
some early John Cage, Cake, but also can only repeat the AtomsforPeace- and Radiohead-reminiscenses. Also: thanks for the JackWhite-hint, interesting!
Workout thread. Altogether different beast @WMWM said:
Truth is since I gave up on the sauce I run five or six miles most nights and, you're right, these rugby knees don't appreciate it, but, hey, the liver's doing a whole lot better, thanks for asking
As regards swimming, the most simplistic but magical piece of musical technology I own is a Finis underwater MP3 player. Interesting thing is that when running I need noise that plays at 160 BPM plus and cuts through me with its violent regularity, but when swimming the long laps at Barton Springs I find the outer reaches of ambient/OSTs/even Chopin the best things to listen to as regards being distracted from the boredom of the pain....
Vladislav Delay, Aleksi Perala, Autechre, Twilight Circus, Jon Hassel, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Chad VanGaalen, Camberwell Now, Miles Davis ( 'On the Corner' & 'Big Fun' ), Clouddead, Subtle & The Steppes ( who I've only just discovered 20 years too late & would thoroughly recommend to anyone who digs 60's style psych pop rock vibes ! )

Blimey, that takes me back to the time of bus journeys, cassette tapes & my first Walkman, though I have to admit I was strictly a Fish man & only went as far as 'Misplaced Childhood'. They used to get a lot of flack from the diehard uk proggers for ripping off Genesis riffs
I actually like the Hogarth era better than the Fish era. I think the Fish era was probably more similar to Genesis. I think the Hogarth era sounds more like Pink Floyd though.
I'm a long-time Gabriel era Genesis fan too....along with Gentle Giant, Strawbs, King Crimson....all the 70’s prog rockers.
let's see, some random stuff I've been listening to over the last month or so:
Ohbliv, Lee Bannon (his dnb album for Ninja Tune is great), Raime, Vatican Shadow, basically a lot of Blackest Ever Black records, revisiting a bunch of old Throbbing Gristle stuff, French Fries, Hackman, 8Ball & MJG
There's a ton more, but that's what I remembered off the top of my head.
edit: Forgot to mention what I'm listening to this very second, Pearson Sounds's "Just Jam" set, love that guy's drums!
@funjunkie27 ....yeah, I walk the line but don't like my 'noodles' overcooked & tend towards the denser stuff, like some of the RIO bands. KC are absolutely timeless & Fripp is one of those who has managed to successfully straddle the decades with the numerous incarnations of the band.
At the moment I am completely in love with David Shrigley's album "Late Nights Presents Shrigley Forced to Speak with Others". Mainly deranged spoken word pieces over repetitive lo-fi backing. Rather disturbing. Very funny too.
@Paul16 - RIO bands? Not familiar with that. What are they?
@funjunkie27 "Rock In Opposition", particularly Henry Cow, I think.

Ahhh...thks @bennorland.
Yeah, that's them. I've been fortunate enough to end up in a merry troupe of experimentalists with one of the original members of Henry Cow, so get plenty of enjoyable 1st hand histories of the scene.
@Paul16 Must be interesting.
BTW, about half your "heavy rotation" list married very closely with my tastes, so I've promised myself that I'll check out the half that I didn't recognise. Thanks in advance.
cLOUDDEAD (and most of the Anticon crew) were cool live
@bennorland ...yeah, lots of fun !
Cool, I kinda split the list between electronics & 'proper bands with songs' so maybe a bit schizzy ! Out of interest, which of the halves was married ?
@CalCutta - only seen some footage, must have been awesome !
@bennorland .... your description of David Shrigley ( with whom I'm unfamiliar ) instantly reminded me of this wonderful oddity...

It was pretty cool, Odd Nosdam was easily the best live act out of the Anticon crew, Boom Bip and Alias were also pretty good (irony, these were the 3 main producers of that crew).
Listening to Lady June now. Rather extraordinary. You might look up Colours by Ken Nordine, another piece of spoken word lunacy. Here's Green:
As for the two sides of your list, the thing is I connected with bits from both "sides" as it were. Vladislav Delay, Autechre, Cloudead, Camberwell Now, Jon Hassell and "On The Corner" would all be in my favourites playlist. Not to mention Henry Cow, and most of Fripp's work in whatever forms it's taken over the years.
I've been listening lately to Berlin, New Order, Joy Division, Psychedelic Furs, Kate Bush, etc. You know, old 80s classics..... :-)
Camel by Camel.
Joy division is awesome.
Today it's the land whale
And Little People
I've read a lot of classics which I find on my playlists as well. But heavy rotation recently is Yoruba Soul Radio podcast. I get a lot of inspiration out of the mix

Thanks for the tip.
@WMWM I love Joy Division, New Order, etc... I have everything from the Warsaw demos on forward (including the side projects). You ought to check out "Twist of Fate" taken from the Bad Lieutenant album "Never Cry Another Tear"
@bennorland ... Cool beans !
Am a fan of Ken's for sometime, thought it sweet when DJ Food dug him out for a track.
Here's another interesting morsel...
@audiojunkie thanks for that. Didn't even know about that side project. Pretty sure that's the most I've ever heard ol' Barney "sing". Sounds great.
