My recent auditory pleasures have been gleaned from - tUne-yArDs 'Nikki Nack', St.Vincent 'Marry Me' & 'Strange Mercy', Jesse Davey 'A Soundtrack To The Movie That Wasn't There' and King Crimson 'Discipline'.
KC fans assemble !
Oh yeah! You are talking KC and the Sunshine band....right? ;-)
What's not to like ??!!!??!! His bizarre look of slight confusion at the start really makes it....
I can't say there's anything NOW in my music listening, but I do have all-time favorites: Oingo Boingo; XTC; Rise Robots Rise (debut); St. Vincent; Susumu Hirasawa; The Tubes; Be Bop Deluxe/Bill Nelson; The Hitmen (which one? The one that does 'Bate's Motel'); a little R.L. Burnside from time to time...
Because a new Aphex Twin album was announced today (first in 14 years!!!), goin' through the motions:
The 25 seconds or so from 3:54 on might be my favorite moment of music, ever.
New Aphex album "Syro" came out today, and it's wonderful. It's on Spotify for full stream if anyone's curious.
I like a lot of the old prog rock listed above. As far as the old stuff I've been revisiting Peter Gabriel's Security, Duran Duran's Rio, Howard Jones's Human's Lib, Pet Shop Boys Introspective and Behavior albums. Frranz Ferdinand's new Late Night collection is made up of old tunes. Beats Music has a Blur's non LP tracks playlist that's good.
Newly released: Aphex Twin's Syro, Eurasure's Violet Flame, U2 Songs of Innocence (thanks Apple for giving it to me for free). Zero7's Simple Science EP, Odeza Say My Name, Savloic's Red album, Begging for Thread by Banks, some of the new the Flaming Lip's Sgt Pepper singles that have been pre released, They Want my Soul by Spoon.
