Anyone regret upgrading from iOS 14 to 15?
I have held off upgrading my iPad (gen 6) from iOS 14 to iOS 15. I am always cautious about upgrading old hardware in case optimization is focused on newest hardware. I also still use quite a few IAA apps.
Has anyone on a similar boat upgrade to iOS 15 and regretted it…or are you happy campers.
The reason I am thinking of upgrading is a couple of apps of interest are iOS 15 only.

I normally wait for months until all the issues are resolved before upgrading. This year is the first time I've upgraded before February
since there were no major issues reported with any of the apps I use, and so far no regrets. I upgraded my phone in October and my iPad about two weeks ago.
So far so good 🙃
MIDI apps Envolver and Perforator are not working in Cubasis, iOS 15, and 15.1. Cubasis and Bram say it's an Apple bug. That's the only downside I've seen with the update. Evidently they work in AUM. A "host"/Apple issue.
Anyone gone to iOS15 on an Air 2?
Is it powerful enough to handle it?
Upgraded my iPad Gen 6 to iOS 15 a few weeks ago. No regrets to date.
I’m more cautious about doing the same to my iPad Air 2 & iPhone 6S+.
Based on others who have done the iOS 15 upgrade on older devices like mine, there have been no reports of the upgrade slowing down the responsiveness of these devices. That was my main concern. I will likely Update in the coming weeks.
My air2 was gathering dust after it went 14.3 one night. So out of curiosity I updated it to 15. I kinda like the OS (clearing the home screen mostly). I haven’t run into major issues yet, though I only rarely use IAA. Most AUs I use work fine.
All that said, I would go back to any previous OS if allowed, (14.8, 13.7) because the gpu performance is really bad. Not a surprise really, but imo it’s pointless to let users update to the point where typing in your browser on the screen becomes a challenge.
Edit:
Btw, does anyone know how that earlier discussed ‘new feature’ of 15 to roll back could be utilised? Haven’t actually heard anything about it since very early days... I thought it will be a big step forward.
No regrets! I haven’t had any issues at all.

Fine for me on iPad 6. I waited for 15.1 to avoid initial problems. Noticed some peculiarities, but none that affect usability. The new [•••] menu for multitasking is handy; leads to me using Split View more than before. Some music apps have other touch fields in the same top center location. They'll need updating, but haven't caused any real problems.
I think that sort of fizzled out before the official release. They never came out and said they'd dropped plans for that, but they subtly changed the wording from what sounded like you could downgrade to ... they will continue to provide security updates for 14 so you can stay on it if you want.
That's a shame because to me it felt like the beginning of progress.
I never upgrade until I absolutely have to. I was apparently still on 12 until sometime this July when I absolutely had to upgrade for a certain app lmao
Then I found out my Korg microkey air needed firmware updated that rendered it completely useless in iOS 13 due to a bug, and apparently the patch also had bugs until very recently ... or something like that. I couldn’t find much info actually, but basically what I’m trying to say is I skipped the entirety of iOS 13 and my microkey air potentially could have been completely useless during that whole time 😂😂
To me, the risk of malfunction far outweighs the potential benefits of an iOS update. Why fix it if it’s not broke?
I skipped iOS14 entirely because of all the issues with AUv3 etc. Upgraded from 13.6.1 to iOS15.
It's been great so far. Not a single issue. No missing AUv3s. No regrets.
Nope. Went from 14.8 to 15.1 the day 15.1 came out. Skipped 15 intentionally. A few small changes that took a few days to get use to, and some other minor things (see my thread: App Store Crashing?but only happened maybe 5 times since update)
I haven’t noticed any disruption to my music apps or workflow. At least that I’ve come across so far. I have so many apps I don’t think I’ve tried every single once since the 15.1 update, lol. Such an app hoarder.
What model iPad?
Only as far as Safari on iPad OS 15 is concerned. It has some issues and this damn keyboard menu blocks the search menu and is really difficult to move if you don’t do it in a very particular way. I use cmd + F all the time to search sites and scroll. The up and down arrows are blocked by this keyboard menu when using the external keyboard. It’s so bad and it it resets to default location very frequently though you can move it.
As far as music apps everything is working fine that I’ve used.
Thanks all for the info.
The missing AU thing seems to only happen to a small number of people. of those, some see it frequently but most not. Under OS 14 (I waited til 14.7 to jump from OS 13.x), I have run into twice.
What model iPad?
I'm very tempted of upgrading to iOS 15, mostly because of Sample Crate.
Anyone knows if Nave is working on iOS 15?
Thanks in advance.
12.9” 2017 iPad Pro. I should probably mention I use it in split screen all the time and this is when it happens. It’s fine if I go full screen. It’s also only when you have a keyboard connected as far as I know, but probably still happens if you use the search from the Safari menu.
What’s the rotate bug?
Nave is working on iOS 15 - Long live Nave
Cheers! Thanks you..
And yes.. Long long live Nave 🙌🏼
Ive not yet updated on my iPad, did donon my iPhone. Im holding back on the iPad because i have several apps that are preserved on the device that are no longer no longer on AppStore or supported ny the developer, but still run on 14
Same, no issues. I always wait until XX.1 when usually all of the initial problems are ironed out. IPad Air 4 here

IOS 15 is working fine on my iphone. I’m tempted to upgrade my ipad to IOS15 because of Sample Crate put i’ll wait till the next Drambo update that will work around the “split screen dots”. I hope it is around the corner……
Not sure how imminent the D update is, but those dots are annoying even with the ‘workaround’. Routinely reaching for transport no longer works for me (split screen control gets triggered way too often), but for slower/careful operators it may not be a problem.
What model iPhone?
12pro max
There was a fairly innocuous MIDI bug that only MultiTrackStudio appears to be affected by but apparently that will be fixed in the next point OS release. Other than that it has been plain sailing with everything I have tried so far.
This isn't answering the question, strictly speaking , but I totally regret the minor upgrade from 14 to 14.1 ....Or might've been 14.1 to 14.2. One day I was happily putting music from itunes on my macbook onto my ipad , the next day I am unable to do this unless I upgrade from Mojave to Big Sur. TOTAL BULLSHIT. Fuck Apple.
