5 Best Apps You Bought on Black Friday 2021

I like doing that. I will probably buy 1 or 2 more apps based on your comments.

My top 5 in no particular order:

1- Pipa Vocal Synthesizer by Klevgränd produkter AB. I was not planning on buying this app, but the reduction is really big and this synth is unique. Sounds really good, really fun, really unique, I like it.
2- LayR-Multi Timbral Synthesizer by Living Memory Software. 50% OFF this outstanding synth that allows you to play many synth at the same time. I will have fun with this, my guitar and Midi Guitar 2.
3- StepBud - AUv3 MIDI Sequencer. Super simple and powerful step sequencer for 1$. Yes, I have others step sequencer but this one is really easy and powerful at the same time. For 1$ it's a no brainer.
4- Mononoke by Bram Bos. Unique MPE synth for drone. Sounds really good and unique on it's own.
5- Animoog Z Synthesizer. It's a Moog. what else to say?

  • Animoog Z & Mixbox

I haven’t bought anything else for iOS.

  • Can't make five but I had Timeless so I completed the bundle and got Saturn and Volcano...

  • "... And the third one will shock you!"

  • I usually don't get sucked in to BF sales, but I'm quite new to the iOS music app experience so I've been gorging myself.

    My best purchases so far:

    1. Virsyn Cube Synth Pro: My first real foray into additive synthesis and I'm totally entranced. Spending lots of my free time sound designing on this wonderful sounding synth.

    2. Nembrini amps (Xtasy, Cali reverb, DC30 and BST100) have really blown me away. I'm looking forlornly at my tube amp now, thinking I might sell it. I also picked up the Blackice bass amp and the Acoustic voice, both equally impressive. While I was at it I snagged all of the rack FX. A wealth of tone for relatively little money. Very happy.

    3. Fabfilter creative bundle. Top quality, 'nuff said..

    4. Cubasis. It will take me a while to find my way around this but I am excited by the possibilities, and that it can leverage the full CPU power of my M1 IPad Pro.

    5. Atom Piano Roll 2. MIDI clip launching in AUM? Yes please! Will take my time to sink my teeth into this one.

Surprise favorite is Riffler! If that were AUv3 or at least had Ableton Link, it would be absolutely incredible but very impressive guitar emulation as it is and a fantastic riff generator.

Animoog Z really made my year. Easily makes the list.

Got a few others that I’m excited about but while I haven’t pulled the lever yet, I’m anticipating that the FabFilter Creative Bundle might be my third, fourth and fifth favorite. I don’t own any of those 3 apps yet and Volcano looks particularly amazing.

Gonna go drop that cash now… 😂

  • Fabfilter Creative Bundle.

    Animoog Z.

    I don’t need anything else

  • Animoog Z. I rarely buy any new apps even when a sale is going on, but Animoog Z is dope af. 😎

  • Midi Mixer, Helium, NuRack, xequence pads/keyb.

  • I bought them all,it's great.

  • I only bought 4 apps this BF. “Less is more” thing going on right about now:

FF Creative Bundle (might get the PRO Bundle)
    Altispace 2
    Bleass DragonFly
    Sample Crate

    On the fence with :
Magic death Eye ( I hear something but a bit too subtle)
EG Pulse - dont need another sequencer/player but for the $$$ the drum kits alone I think are worth it

only three here within the Fabs creative bundle this time, glad that I have them all now, must have been around 130 € for ten plugins altogether which is the price for one of them in desktop land :)

I haven’t bought anything else for iOS.

If I could refund all my hundreds of app purchases and only choose 3 apps. It would be Animoog z, Mixbox, and AUM. Literally don't need anything else. Besides maybe a few SWAM sounds if you wanna get fancy

  • A few of the SWAM instruments
And Volcano and AnimoogZ like everyone else

  • And Alexander wept, seeing as he had no more worlds to conquer.

  • I ended up getting both SGA PHOENIX and klevgrand reamp after trying to convince myself that only one would do, much messing about with the desktop demos revealed the differences… I got Tal-UNO and Zeeon which are both as lovely sounding as everyone’s told me for years, and I also got Thesys and that’s a lot of fun too… I didn’t get CVquencer s I’ve just got a pair of SQ1 devices that really should fill that gap for a while, as well as a MIDI to cv board that I need to press into service. Oh damn, I thought that was it, got slammer and snakebud as well 😬 magic seven 😁

  • Man I’m cool with Animoog and the Fab. Best things released this year by far.

I pretty much have everything else (been at this for 6-7 years now, seen a lot of Black Fridays in my iOS time).

  • I was initially planning not to buy any apps. Mission failed.

    1. Animoog Z being released was what started it.
    2. Next, I bought Impulsation because I needed a good IR loader.
    3. SynthMaster 2 was next on my hit list. SynthMaster One is amazing , so it made sense to keep this on the list.
    4. Bought TAL -U-NO, and the Arturia Prophet because I needed a good collection of 80s synth. Will look through the presets, find a few favorites.
    5. Gifted a friend Beatmaker 3, and started learning about Beatmaker.

Oh, also bought a Korg Module preset, and Beathawk sound pack based on recommendations from @LinearLineman and @jwmmakerofmusic

Arrrgh...I’ll add one more. Picked up Turnado. Thanks for the tip @supadom

Finally picked up a iPad Pro. Gifting out my current iPad to a student of mine. Guess it’s pro time.

Better get that OB-Xd to complete that 80s set

Does Impulsation offer anything that the free THAFKNAR doesn’t, if you have used both?

Great call. Had OB-XD earlier last year, so I guess the synth collection is complete, haha 😆

I guess it’s the nicer UI, and 100 presets included. I almost got it in their iFX Rack, but it’s missing some features, and is more expensive there. At least as the app is AUv3, I can load multiple instances of Impulsation.

That said, I doubt I’ll have much time to test it until December. Got a lot of videos to catch up on, haha.
