  • I have some of my own Rhino presets saved on my iPad. Is there a way to share your presets with Rhino on your other devices. Or a way to export your user presets? I see a folder named Rhino on my iPad with two folders named IR and Presets but both are empty. I was hoping i could find my preset files here, but nope. Anyone has any ideas how to export or backup your own presets?

Well, I finally got Rhino. Wow!!!!
Blown away! I dialed my tone with the Aurora Clean Preset and already created many beautifully overdriven presets for rhythm and Lead. It is a totally giveaway at $9.99 current special. I highly recommend it big time!

It might just have saved me a lot of $.

I love that it forces you to use your ears to dial in your tone. I love it!

  • Yeah I just got this and it’s incredible. It’s got everything I’d need for guitar and a built in tuner to top it all off

  • it is really 👍

  • I wonder if there’s a way to share presets.

  • Totally worth it on sale again!

  • I'm totally blown away that everybody loves this amp! Granted, I haven't really tweaked the knobs beyond strolling through presets, but this seems to be made for, like, Slipknot fans or something! Am I crazy? The heavy gating on so many presets is totally unnerving to me. It's usable, but if you have several Nembrini or THU amps, I can't see what itch this scratches.

I guess it's a high gain kinda thing. I haven't got it yet, but that was the overwhelming impression I had, which is why I've avoided it so far.

That used to be my impression but it does nice cleans with the right settings. You have to dial it in from scratch. Ignore the presets.

  • Exactly! Start with the Aurora Clean Preset and disable everything and add your pre-s to taste and mess with the IR vector! Love it!

Thanks, I had found out it was discounted to 10 euro, and when I wanted to buy on monday it was 20 again. So that was a bummer. And now 10 again, so I snatched it. Maybe it is worth 20 but for 20 I have other wishes.

After a quick demo, this app makes my guitar scream, I can appreciate that from time to time. Makes me play in a totally different way.

  • Apart from the sound, I also appreciate the utility:footprint ratio of the app. It offers a number of different sound options so it is a good choice for my space starved iPad Mini when compared against the very large TH-U and multiple smaller Nembrinis.

    @espiegel123: Right again.
To elaborate: It's really not like a guitar amp, and that's its strength. You have a wide range of parameters to tweak that, as @Tones4Christ mentioned, force you to use your ears. Obviously, we all do that anyway, but there are so many interesting ways to change the weather of the sound. I actually will use it as a clean base, i think. The phaser sounds really good, too, maybe the best on iOS.

Just started playing with Rhino. It takes such an original approach. No little pictures of amps or pedals or knobs. No "cabling" together an effects chain. A super efficient interface wherein everything you could possibly need to adjust is immediately accessible.

It also sounds excellent. Though most of the presets are heavier than I prefer, I'm sure that with some time I'll be able to push it more toward clean / edge-of-breakup. As much as I love TH-U and Nembrini, Rhino has the potential to become the only sim I'll need. (That is until the next amazing one comes along...)

I just removed all other amp sims off my iPhone except Rhino. I’ll still use Thu and Nembrini on my iPad, but Rhino is perfect on my phone.

Really?. Do you find as good as a Nembrini?. Only had a brief dive, I do love the fuzz and the fact that you have it all within me app.
On a previous post I talked about how it sort of makes my recent Nembrini IR Loader purchase instantly obsolete…even if just using it for IRs and limiting after a Nembrini amp.

  • It’s so configurable that you can really tweak and dial in great tones, from fender cleans to Plexi crunch with your own tweaks. I also use it to import IR’s to Rhino and mix them and then export for use in Overloud THU.

  • Agree on most positive ratings of Rhino. Great interface. It's refreshing to have a well thought out interface instead of the usual pedalboard and amp skeuomorphic baggage.

However, when I export an IR on iPad, I get zero bytes. What's the trick?

Export TO the Rhino/IR directory. Permissions error if you don’t, then I too get zero bytes.

It works! This is a great feature.

Is there any other IR Loader on iOS that supports export, let alone mixing? I might not have purchased faIRmageddon if I knew Rhino could do this.

This app sounds so great glad I snagged it on sale at $7.99.

Has anyone found an answer to this? It be great to get a little collection of presets. We could all pitch in a few, or someone could go at it. Either way would love to see this app on Patchstorage. Mammoth too.

I second that! Easier management of your patches would be very welcome, or ways to share/backup them!

  • Demo and giveaway

  • @eylvy thanks, it was helpful also,
Just bought rhino and Mammoth and discovered smile on my face.

  • Is Rhino for ipad really auv3? I do not see it listed inside the auv3 list in in loopy pro. I rebooted twice but it did not help. Is there any way to fix this?

Hmm all works fine for me. When you reboot did you make sure to close out of all apps first and then reopening them when you restart? In the past that’s fixed things for me.

Why not try their support :D

Apologies if I’m asking the obvious, but are you looking under AUv3 Effects or AUv3 Instrument input? Rhino should be in the former.

So you plug your guitar cable directly into your interface (DI) and run this auv3 and it actually emulates different amps and effects? How are the Marshalls and mesas?

Are there other companies that make apps that also do this as auv3 ?

works fine in Loopy Pro. Are you adding as an Effect?

Rhino doesn't emulate particular brands but it does simulate a variety of "flavors" of power amps and preamps. You might want to read this thread starting at the beginning to know more about it.

There are many AUv3 guitar amp emulators. Nembrini makes many. There is THU Overloud. ToneStack Pro. TONEX. There are others, too.
