(I thought they were guitar sims that you key in but I wasn’t aware they were like desktop DI plugins)
Thanks. I did not know it need to be added as effect. Most guitar amp auv3s get added as an inter-app audio input.
AUv3 are never inter-app audio input. Inter-app audio is for connecting to apps that run as standalone apps. If you have used IAA input that means you are running the amp sim as a standalone.. When an amp sim runs as an AUv3, it needs to run as an effect because it doesn't create sound on its own. It processes sound from an audio input.
[This isn't unique to Loopy Pro, btw. That's just how amp sim AUv3s work]
Should Rhino be placed as a pre-fader effect or a post-fader effect? Each time you add rhino as an effect it adds another instance so you have Rhino a b and c etc. which is great so you can switch between rhino presets. If I want to control effect (preset) switching with a midi foot switch, am I better off putting all my rhinos (abc) on one audio input and switching between them or adding audio inputs and putting a different rhino effect on each one?
Normally you want an amp sim pre-fader since the input volume influences tone and distortion and the compression characteristics.
As for how to arrange them, I think used trial and error.
Do you want three instances of it rather than one instance with preset switching? Each instance will use cpu if it is turned on and there is signal going to it.
I really want one instance with preset switching. Does Rhino accept midi commands to change presets?
I don't know if Rhino does natively, but if you are using Loopy Pro or AUM as the host, the hosts let you switch presets via MIDI.
Is there any summer sale? It looks worth trying
Not sure about a summer sale but their apps usually do go on sale a couple times a year and they’re usually very good.
