What we need is his "Wires" app for iOS!
It’d be nice to have both Wires and Gong Amp. I’d quite fancy Motor, too.
Reels, Wires and this would be amazing for iOS. Here's hoping. Gong Amp is great for Ambient stuff.
Quick demo:
I had a chat with Hainbach at an installation he did in Berlin, and when I joked that he could just sample everything into an Octatrack, he was politely unimpressed.
I love that he's moving into the virtual realm though. And in such an interesting way.
it’s a great plugin ! wires too btw
I love wires.
I use it as a tape delay on almost every track.
way to go 🥂
Quite recent I invested in some software for my MacBook Air. Wires, Motor and now Gong are among them! I also love the Softube material for desktop.
LOL. I can imagine the face he pulled.
Check goodhertz …
Softube stuff is overrated and CPU inefficient, I can't use it even on more recent machines.
I disagree. Some plugins maybe. My PC is over 5yo and handles my Softube mainstays. Even new ones like Amproom. The synth type plugins might be heavier. I had Modular and seem to recall it being a bit heavy on cpu. The eq, comp, amp plugins I use sound great and are light on cpu. Have been using them for many years.
Has Hainbach abandoned iOS since his feeling got hurt or is there more on the way?
I’m pretty satisfied at what I can achieve on my Mac Book Air (M1). The Juno emulation is pure gold, years ago I’ve had two 106 models, this emulation pretty nails it. Also like the modular stuff and tape emulation/echo.
It is not just Hainbach. He has to also convince his develper that it is worth making an iOS version.
None of Audiothing’s apps are on iOS, unfortunately, not just Hainbach’s.
Are there any FX apps on IOS that add these metallic resonances? I know there are
resonators in Drambo that might be useful. I think I'll google resonator on the forum search and see what pops up.
AAS Objec is a physical modeling app that adds metallic resonances.
apeFilter looks promising... I recall this FX app has the potential to cause hearing damage... ADD a LIMITER after it when experimenting.
@bcrichards made a video and a Drambo patch for resonator use cases:
RealDelayrium has a resonator module. So does the Burns Audio Spectrum suite (free!). That same module is also included in MiRack. Objeq. CuSnP. Zed Synth, if you still have it, can be used as an IAA effect.
Still hoping that IceGear make their superb resonator section available as a stand alone effect.
I want that wires app we need to bombard Audiothing with requests for these apps...
True, but without Hainbach there is no Hainbach.
If you go to Hainbach’s YouTube page he has a survey about what people would like him to do in the future. “IOS shenanigans” is amongst the option. Might be worth a click.
(I’d share the link but I don’t seem to be able to share YouTube posts from my phone)
I get that feeling too.
https://www.youtube.com/c/Hainbach/community it's the second post. iOS shenanigans is second to last place
I too love wires, motor, and a good few of audio thing’s other plugins, but this one hasn’t really rung my bell 😜
I voted for iOS shenanigans.
+1
I voted, too. But I have a kind of off-topic question. I’m not a native English speaker and I think I’m missing the undertones expressed by using the term shenanigans. Oxford dictionary explains it as ‚dishonest activity‘. So what is dishonest about Hainbach making iOS apps?
“Interesting” how many of the negative comments are against iOS.
Weird how people can’t just be positive and ask for what they like best without having to take sides and be critical and obnoxious.
I’m so tired of the world being so polarised.
It can also be used just to mean “playing about” or similar.
Whether we like it or not, this platform has a lot to grow to become practical. I bet you wouldn’t react the same when seeing the term of ‘ditching mouse or getting away from the desktop/laptop after a whole day in work...’ often used around here. Guess what... for many people our debates between two WWDC, overpriced products or a whole 8 hours of sitting in front of a computer seem just as ridiculous
