  • Ok, so the name is clear at least BLEASS SampleWiz 2.

Sample playback seems to be Normal, Granular and Particle Cloud.
    The handles have optional 'snap'.

Could not see any indication of layering...

Loop values are set with % which likely means it will NOT import sample-accurate loop-points when importing samples...
...if they are 'smart' here each loop % index is automatically set at zero-crossed to avoid clicks when modulating the loop point.

Reverb seems to include shimmer option...

I'm guessing in the $7.99-$9.99 range like most BLEASS apps unless it has 'Wiz Tax' all over it B)

    Cheers!

Beards like that don't come cheap...

We can not say more until the release, but stay tuned for more content & info on this upcoming app which will be available Tuesday. Also follow Jordan Rudess' social media!

There will be a simultaneous release for macOS?

Are samples stored in an easily accessible ‘on my ipad’ folder ala BM3 or (equaly nice) saved in the actual project file of the host, ala Koala? Or is it some local app storage / icloud blasphemy limited to 128 samples ala (sadly) Egoist?

People want answers (to various things!), “leak” the manual!

I'm almost 99% sure import can be done using the document picker/files.app thing and that the sample is stored with the preset and as part of the 'state save'. Otherwise it would not be easy to share presets...

I really hope you’re right about the sample being stored in the au session or preset, a la Loopy and Koala.

I’m a big alpha fan @bleassapp and will defo be adding this new synth to my extensive BLEASS collection.

  • So excited… we need more samplers! Hoping maybe has loop xfade and also animateable loop start/length. Stoked to see MPE, and drive on the filter(s). Insta-buy for me

  • It sounds great but please, hire a GUI designer… I never touch Bleass stuff because I can’t stand the looks

    What???
I really like their Ui design. Much better than most other music apps imho. What UI designs do you prefer?

I can understand not liking the actual ‘look and feel’ - I like it myself but it’s entirely subjective.

The actual UI in BLEASS apps is hugely optimised for touch - it’s what makes their effects my go tos. So good for my fat clumsy thumbs.

My favourite ones are SugarBytes stuff for example. I understand the why’s but not the how’s. Especially the colours and those sqares everywhere, they would look way sexier if they were rounded just a little bit around the corners imho. Klevgrand plugins are elegant too. I think, especially above a certain price range, the looks should matter as well not just the function.

A Bleass take on sampling - hurray. I see lots of inspiration taken from Samplr but transformed into an MPE instrument. Very cool.

Gosh, December is ruining me… Black Friday aftermath, Christmas and now additionally Loopy Pro and Bleass Samplr. Exciting times. This is pure dope and according to Gilbert Shelton:

“Dope will get you through times of no money better than money will get you through times of no dope.”

I do like the looks of SugarBytes apps, but I often find them annoying to use because they are not really optimized for touch, e.g. I always have to scroll up and down on Drum Computer. I never used any Klevgrand Apps, but they look a bit too reduced for my taste. Long story short, I prefer apps that are optimized for iOS/iPadOS and I like the BLEASS aesthetic.

Lol what? You don’t like it so obviously they don’t have someone designing it? Get over yourself bud.

There’s nothing wrong with their UI. There’s a clear delineation between the various functions and pages. The controls are smooth and well designed for touchscreens. They manage to fit a lot on the page without it being cluttered. Things aren’t buried within menus and long presses. They scale solidly between iPhone and iPad.

Also at their price range? The quality of their apps compared to their price is impressive to say the least.

  • Some photos pf the UI.

    totally disagree here …

  • Every time i hear a granular, i'm thinking about a swarm of bees trying to sing in tune...

  • Like I said, I like the sound, but when you buy something that feels, sounds, works nice, you also choose based upon the aesthetics. Would be an Audi, a Volvo, a DJM mixer so successful if it looked liked a sketch? These apps for me do look like a sketch, even free apps have prettier GUI for my taste, that’s all. Too squary stuff and orange, blue and green just don’t do it for me, that’s all I said :) we are different

  • :anguished: Trying to hold myself and not discusss the UI

But as a graphic designer/artist the one thing that bothered me in the screenshots above was tangents. With the keyboard showing, it is touching the parameter wheels

I know it's situational though

    Looks amazing and ultra modern!!!
Bleass always finds a way to push the envelope without being too much. In addition I appreciate their apps take up less space. They don’t use a lot of assets to make their UIs.

What is that device he’s using with the keyboard? (I’m assuming that’s the ROLI keyboard app/thing?)

Okay but you understand that there’s a difference between something being objectively poorly done and you just not liking it, right?

  • Granular synth or sampler? Does it support SFZ latter?

You honestly don't think they have a designer? You think they look that way by chance?

    😂

I love Sugarbytes apps, but they suffer from heavy assets: their use of skeuomorphism makes their apps storage hogs. Beautiful, leaning a little more on form over function.

Bleass has innovated by going light on assets and heavy on easy interaction. Design definitely leads Bleass’ direction: user first!

I used them, but I definitely dislike the behavior of their sliders (absolute instead of relative) and how much of the interface the keyboard uses in Alpha. I have a bit of trouble with Rymdigare as well (the knobs seem to have some momentum, and I'd prefer tabbed sections instead of sliding between them), but I really like the UI, even that big spaceship. I definitely seems like there's a lot of personal preference involved.

    100%.

I don't like Klevgrand design that much but I concede that it is what most people would consider modern, stylish design.

But I like 4Pockets design (not trendy stylish but neat and jamming a lot of functionality in one screen) that some people don't like.

Some guys but striped suits, some buy checked suits, some buy plain suits. Some buy t-shirts...

    my thought process:
    "Physical Modeling? Fuck yeah!
    AI generative? Fuck yeah!
Jordan Rudess.... um... hopefully it's not just a bunch of shovelware, that dude puts his name on anyone who will let him!"

    I'm cautiously optimistic
