  • I'll be damned
    That is amazing
    Alexander rocks

  • For the ones who can catch up with all the updates... Is there already some option for note scales? Or do we still use the traditional hacks with multisynth/metamodules, etc?

As far as I know the meta-module hack is still needed but, it's not that hard to learn which notes are part of a scale.
I don't have the beta so not a single clue what the remaining 20% will contain...

...I feel it will include plenty of nice surprises and I'd gladly pay again for the 2.1 update to be honest.

@samu I paid again for 2.0 (via a paypal donation), seemed rude not to!

@senhorlampada Scale functions were introduced with v2.0.
I've never used them so the best help I can offer is this vid:

I've got to try it too!
So many features in SunVox, I've barely scraped the surface. just last month I used one of the new pattern commands from 2.0 for the first time.

V2.1 dev status is at 90% now

  • Hello is there anyone on this forum that can help me on how to use the adsr module? For some reason I cant get it to modulate any module when I connect it to it. I’m trying to figure out to use it and can’t find any info. Im probably jus really slow on understanding this one.

You need to send the output first to a Snd_2_Ctl module, then the Snd_2_Ctl module to the plugin that you want to modulate. From there you can connect the parameter you want to control.

    Here's an example:

The MultiSynth module is connected to the ADSR and to SpectraVoice so that a note played on the MultiSynth module triggers both. Then the ADSR is sent to the Snd_2_Ctl, which is then connected to the volume parameter on the SpectraVoice module.

Hey thank u so much for ure reply…trying my best to learn this stuff

  • edited January 2023

I remember getting stumped on the ADSR at first too.
It wasn't intuitive to me that it needed a multisynth to trigger it.
(It's a good design though IMO as it opens up for more sound design.)

In the above example, you can skip the sound2ctl module, if doing so set the ADSR 'mode' parameter from 'generator' to 'amp modulator' and place the ADSR after the Spectravoice.

  • SunVox 2.1 beta is out today (for desktops).
It won't hit mobile platforms until out of beta testing. Usually this is a few weeks.

Same 😂 I keep meaning to dive into it more. This, MiRack, and Audulus are the 3 I want to learn the most. Love the dev, though. Fractal Bits and Virtual ANS are 2 of my favorite. Even Spectrum Gen and PixelWave are great. Same for his tracker apps! It says those got sample import in the update but I can’t see how (besides wifi from a desktop).

Any thoughts @Samu ? I know you’re a big fan of his apps as well.

In the SunVox menu select System Import, pick a *.wav file and boom, you have a sampler in SunVox.
Connect it to the output and play...
    (Same procedure in the AUv3).

If Samu makes a tutorial on how to do wavetables in SunVox, I’ll certainly start using it more. 😌

SunVox doesn't have a 'wavetable engine' but if you mean creating custom finger-painted wave-table frames for use with other apps it's just a matter of doing copy & paste between two samplers and once all the frames are done save it as a new sample :sunglasses:

I got that from your posts. I was envious of how you did this in SunVox, haha! 😂 But now we have excellent ButterSynth for that purpose anyway.

Gotcha. I managed to get it going in Virtual ANS and SunVox, just not the other apps he updated with this feature. The trackers say apparently got this feature as well but I can’t seem to find it.

  • Nice, always some good things in each update :)
If you need general help it's always worth searching through the SunVox forum first as there a lot of useful posts.

Sweet. I finally have a full weekend off this weekend so I’m planning on diving deep into this and MiRack as I’ve been meaning to thoroughly learn them both for a while now

Oh I’m sure. They’re both insanely deep apps but I’m excited to learn :)
