Rutger died in the original. Would not have made sense for him to return.

Could have come back as a blue Avatar... wouldn't put it past Hollywood.

I just can’t get myself watching Bladerunner 2. I just can’t. I consider Bladerunner as one of the greatest movies ever made. Like our Dutch pride Rutger Hauer (playing Roy Batty) said about the sequel ‘if something is so beautiful, you should just leave it alone and make another film’.

    Same, absolutely terrible movie lol

Heresy haha! It's definitely a slow movie, but very atmospheric. Bit similar to the new Dune in that sense, which some hated but I also loved. Both deserve viewing on a large cinema screen with a great sound system, also.

Ok … a nano-pack of Bladerunner-esque sounds, some with that signature rich sawtooth thing, some cinematic sound FX etc, and a Star Wars related one … sounds like the engine sound when ships land. Enjoy, remixl, use etc :)

So… seems like I‘m having trouble importing these presets… I saved the zip and am opening it from inside continua’s preset manager. But then simply nothing happens. Unpacking and opening a single preset does nothing either…? Restarting the app does nothing either…

I’ve imported spidericemidas preset zip in the past without any issue but that’s been a while ago…

Exact same issue here and I have presets from spider too…

I see these folders in the presets manager: artists, factory, spidericemidas, user. Where should the imported presets appear, in a new folder of their own? Within the artists folder? In the user folder?

Or has there simply been a change to the preset files and old ones no longer work? Would be nice to get an error/success message…

  • Came across this guide to creating the Vangelis synth sound in SunVox (which coincidentally I recently bought B) )

  • @craftycurate thanks
    :)
    They sound great!

  • Yes, they sound great, happy that I stumbled upon these now.

@dobbs @ik2000 did you sort out your troubles? If you had some folder selected when doing the zip import, they would end up as a subfolder there. I got mine in the wrong place on the first go, and selected User folder before importing a second time.

  • Hoping that the new "Angular Arp" Model15 bank will pair well with these B)

That's amazing! 😃 I'll have to try that out.

Nope unfortunately not. I click import, the file browser window opens, I select the zip or preset file and the preset manager will have unselected the folder i had selected and that’s it, that’s all that happens. I try it again and the file folder I downloaded the zip to is not even under „last used“ so continua really doesn’t even seem to touch the file…

only idea I have is that maybe they made changes to the preset files and these presets were created with a no longer supported version of the app…

But that means it did work for you? With an up to date version of continua?

Maybe someone could re-export and reupload them, maybe that would be worth a try? 🤔

The KORG Minilogue / XD actually comes with exactly this kind of sound patch on factory set program no. 001.

It sounds actually like the original as used in the latest Bladerunner movie.
I could even swear that exactly this synth was used for the movie track.

And the movie is actually one of the best movies I've seen the last 10 years. Pictures are exorbitant.

(Minilogue XD is an analog hardware synth with 8 analog oscillators (2x4) - polyphonic - and analog filters and has a digital extension where users actually can code their own additional oscillators and effects for.)

+1 on the latest Bladerunner movie as a masterpiece. Villeneuve is just an incredible director.

  • Yeah. Blade Runner 2049 is superb. It's a crime that it didn't do very well at the box office.

Audio Damage Continua is the stand-out choice here for me.

This is two Continua patches with no additional effects or processing. It has the deepest spaciest reverb of any synth I know and that wonderful fat sawtooth synth string sound that just screams “Bladerunner”.

wow.. jaws on floor .. that's pretty HUGE sound

Amen to that. I was equally blown away by Dune Part 1 - cannot wait for the sequel later this year, the man is a megatalent.

The original Bladerunner was only for a week or so in the theaters. It took a long time to rise from the underground.
