Cherry audio Voltage Modular ignite 2 90% off — £7.96.
https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/1-Instruments/4-Synth/5034-Voltage-Modular-Ignite-2
Since I don't have this one yet, I'm not clear what this is. The offer is for "Voltage Modular Ignite 2", but the text goes on to describe it is free for owners of "Voltage Modular"... Are these two different things?
Is "Voltage Modular Ignite 2" just a plug-in for "Voltage Modular"? How much does "Voltage Modular" cost by itself?
Voltage modular 2 is a free upgrade to 1.
There are tiers. There’s a free tier, voltage modular nucleus, and then there are paid bundles.
Ignite is the name of a bundle and usually goes for $100 but is more often than not on sale at Cherry audio for $50.
You can buy a load of modular add ins, just like with real euro(c)rack.
Here’s a link to the comparison chart.

There’s also a free demo available.
Thanks. Yep, I found that comparison chart after I wrote that. Downloaded the completely free version directly from Cherry Audio, the "Voltage Modular Nucleus". Pretty cool. So now I'll consider paying the extra $10 to PlugInBoutique for the extra 40 modules. That's a good deal. Honestly, modular synths hold little interest for me, but on the odd occasion I might try messing around with some of the modules.
...
After checking, turns out I could buy the "Ignite 2" upgrade for about $5 because of my prior purchases from Pluginboutique. Even better deal than I thought, so I got it.
I don't want to stoke the GAS but you can get the upgrade from Ignite 2 to Core + Electro Drums for 50% off too:
https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/1-Instruments/4-Synth/5297-Voltage-Modular-Core-2-Electro-Drums-Upgrade-from-Ignite
It works out quite a bit cheaper than buying core + electro drums which is 50% off:

Hurry up if you want it, Cherry Audio might not have another sale like this for at least a day or two... ;-)
That's good info for other people to be aware of, but $5 is about all I had to spend, so...
I don’t think this will be a problem with AD’s future on iOS. If anything, it sounds like they’ll be coming out with new apps or newer versions of apps. You can see their original tweet from yesterday, I think it was. It read to me like they are revamping/reworking some things, and as part of their overhaul they are making the older versions of desktop software free. I commented about QuatroMod but didn’t check to see if they answered it yet. > @mrufino1 said:
Lol.
This seems to be the pertinent quote off their web site.
They obviously haven’t been making enough money to cover endless upgrades on older software. An understandable problem for a developer.
Turns out I already owned Ignite. I didn’t even know! So of course I had to buy Core 2 + Electro drums.
2 updates -M1 compatible- from FullBucketMusic
FB-7999 + Nabla ∇
They’ve just updated voltage modular to v2.5 with full M1 support.
I wasn’t going to get this before but I’m starting to be tempted — and would lessen the blow of Ditching Reason. I do like the idea of the electro drum modules. Hmmm. Talk me out of it I really can’t justify spending any cash on something I’ll likely never use.
Plus I keep spending small amounts on stuff when I could lump it all together and buy a car instead. 🤣
The new Playertron modules are something quite special. Looking forward to a big bundle release of those. When you look at the quality of MRB, Vult and the other developers as well, it's a pretty impressive platform. MRB's history in modular hardware and the Zeroscillator is a really interesting read as well.
Oh, fantastic! Just installed the non-M1 version yesterday and it was giving me problems. Great timing!
UPDATE: Looks like I've got a hundred or more duplicate presets now for some reason... Is there any way to clear out all of the presets and then reinstall all the factory settings? This is getting worse.

Toneboosters just released their legacy plugins for free it’s like 32 plugins. You have to download their legacy installer and then install them from there https://www.toneboosters.com/changelog.html
Edit: 23 plug-ins, yay dyslexia!
Any idea which plugins these are?
Looks like it’s the v3 versions of the plug-ins like Barricade and EQ as well as a few others. The article I read it in lists them as well I’ll give you the link here https://www.synthanatomy.com/2022/02/toneboosters-has-released-23-legacy-plugins-mac-win-with-64-bit-support-for-free.html?fbclid=IwAR00wqvMU6rUTlkEq74l6fR_WTmCi7V6s_EW1lmGdAaWaQsfAVMLBpziUQk
Thanks so much! I already have the majority of their plugins (both iOS and desktop), but there are several I held off getting…

Pro tip: if you are planning to get, or upgrade your existing, komplete collection, then you may just as well ignore this promo as most of these expansions will be incorporated in there.
Believe it or not, more than a few of these older iterations of their better-looking (newer) cousins are worth testing in your desktop workflow. I’m keeping about a dozen, which I found surprisingly useful.
Slate Digital just released a new sample pack Caicos, it is free until March 1st. Not sure about pricing after that… cheers!
