Just preparing the ground since my minilab is arriving shortly.

Nothing wrong with using chord-players, especially if just using a mobile device screen. But as you're getting a keyboard anyway, why not learn to play the parts in?

    Again, no judgment...just curious

At times it can happen that when you go past your couch with an iPad in your hand, before you know it the couch will suck you in and won't let you go. Now there you're sitting with your iPad but the MIDI controllers are out of reach.
Firing up that chord app will give you faster results than negotiating with your couch.

Absolutely! I already mentioned the advantage when just having screen at-hand. Even paired with a real keyboard, they make great quick-jam and learning tools. I have a few myself ;)

ScaleBud and ScaleBud 2 does the one finger chrords. ScaleBud 2 has +110 scales to choose from and you can also create your own custom scales as well. You can also check out RhythmBud for strumming effect.

    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/scalebud-2-auv3-midi-keyboard/id1605842538

And it would be fantastic, if you could send each note of a chord to a different MIDI channel - while pressing only one button to generate those chords 🤗🤗🤗

That's Multi-Divisi, already mentioned. It's pretty clever about which note is sent to which channel, so you can get the band back together ;).

For the Anti-Mozaic crowd that refuse to allow programmable apps on their secure devices:
PolyThemus will spilt out 4 note chords and Doug can teach you how:

Can you believe that doug has a whole room for testing sounds... @thesoundtestroom!

"MIDI Chord to Mono Note" really makes it sound like a downgrade. Like "We can't play or need all these stupid notes. Duh. One note will do... thank you very much."

But "Chord on Monophonic Synth Clusters" sound like magic.

Yes. That's how I used it last... to re-create a live brass quartet when SWAM shipped their brass apps.

Chordjam by Audiomodern is just what the doctor ordered, i reckon

Hmm, I’ll dive into that, thanks!

I did a vid on it

  • IAA apps (I know they’re not in vogue)

    Navichord
ChordMaps2 <= press a key sound like an orchestra, includes split channels for different registers
Chordez <= strong suits are, key modulations, chord substitutions, triad decorations (slash chords add13 quartals and more)

The app Audanika the successor of SoundPrism

In addition, don’t rule out the KeyStep 37 for hardware, one-finger chords and strumming. It is a great value, tactile and fun to use.

+1, since you beat me to it :)
