Do apps disappear from the store
I thought they were still downloadable in my purchased list, but no. I seem to have lost the 90s Video FX app.
Comments
It depends on why it disappeared from the store. Sometimes, they are still available via iMazing
Are you looking in the iPad App Store by chance? If this is the same app, it hasn't disappeared, but it's only available for iPhone:

I have a small but bitter list of things that burn me when I allow myself to think of them. The disappearance from the store of Earhoof is one...
The only image that the name Earhoof evokes for me is what I would have called that nasty infection my daughter's ear piercing developed.
Thanks. Not that one but it got me on the right track because I remember it was on my Galaxy phone. Apparently removed from App store, now Play Store only. Was a good one sadly.
90s Glitch VHS & Vaporwave Video Effects Editor
it depends , I think if the dev stops paying the annual fee to Apple , the apps are removed completely from the Store (and purchased list)
Does a bear shit in the woods? I kid, I kid. Sadly, yes they do, for various reasons
Even in that case iMazing can sometimes get them. Someone said that the demo version might be able to, but I can’t vouch for that.
Yea iPhone apps usually don’t appear unless you scroll down and press ‘see all’ for developers apps, or sometimes by direct search.
I has become Android only. See above.
I miss Earhoof.
One I keep hoping will magically return:
Thanks for posting that. Same message I've seen so it confirms my fear. Really sucks, what can you do, but buy something new? I have seen pretty good confirmation the developer of 90s abandoned the App Store.
This reality has made it necessary to keep my older devices with deprecated software on them frozen in iOS time.
I went to my AppStore purchased list and many instruments are no longer there as if I didn’t purchase them. I checked my AppStore purchase history and the apps are listed, but they disappeared from the download page. Has anyone had this happen ? What did you do to get your apps back?
@Proppa please remind me of name of app, top right in your pic, does it start with an F?? Have a bet with a friend.
Also, what is top left one, looks like some envelope fun?
Weird, only my iPad isn’t showing it. It’s fine on my iPhone and mac
Top right is Figure top left is Seekbeats - one of the all time greats for drums on iOS (in my opinion).
It's possible to hide purchased apps if you don't want to see certain ones on your device's purchased list... maybe the missing ones got hidden somehow? Presumably there's a "show all" option somewhere too...
What app?
Are you sure you're signed in on the same Apple account on all devices? Maybe try logging out of the App Store and then logging back in. Rebooting is also always a good thing to try. Maybe try that first before logging out and back in.
A lot, yea I’m sure I’m signed in. I signed in and out and in again.
Then I checked my phone, my Mac and iPad and only the iPad doesn’t show the missing apps : is it possible because I’m on iPados16?
I did what you said Wim. It isn’t showing up. It’s very strange because it does show the dates I got them and the receipts in the App Store purchase history
Even MS word is gone! So many apps! Like 7 synths and drums instruments at least besides word?
(They aren’t hidden, i checked that too)
I don't see how it could be related to iPadOS 16.
Have you tried searching in the search box rather than just browsing the list?
Also, just to be clear, when you say "download list" you're referring to the Purchased Items list, right?
What do you see if you search in the regular App Store search? Do you see the download icon on the app?
If none of those work, then I are you sure your WiFi is working properly on this iPad?
Yes , on all questions about Wi-Fi and all - this is crazy. I lost dRambo ,sm1,sm2,hammerhead, pulse, and a few others … just gone
This makes me wish Apple had a system so developers could auction off their apps to other companies or developers through Apple's portal. Would make it more likely that good apps stay alive longer from developers willing to commit the resources to do so.
Uninstalled from your iPad too? Or just missing from the store?
@dreamcartel - this is just a shot in the dark. You didn't somehow enable iPadOS Settings > General > iPad Storage > Offload Unused Apps did you? And while you're there, how much free space do you have in storage?
Bear in mind that once upon a time, Apple allowed you, like a proper computer company should, to make your own local whole machine backups, which included all the apps you had paid good money for, for offline backup. Then they did away with that, ‘storing your backup in the cloud’ (lies) and introduced a mandatory annual ransom fee to devs. If the devs stop paying it, ever, their apps get yanked from the store, and the purchasers hung out to dry.
I have lost several apps this way, and others live on only on individual ancient frozen iPads I can’t ever update, and will only remain live as long as their host machines do.
People will tell you comforting lies about the app called imazing, but don’t rely on them. It will only work if you have made a backup using it during the lifetime of the app on the App Store. If you make a backup with your locally held zombie app still alive on your machine, after it has gone from the store, imazing won’t help you.
It is a cynical, contemptuous downgrading of the customers’ experience, but Apple don’t give a fuck, because they already have our money, right, and us saps just keep coming back for more of the same anyway.
You don’t own anything, peasant. (Official Apple spokesperson.)
Totally valid rant. 😎
But not at all what's going on here for @dreamcartel.
