I'm very eager too
but hold your horses sir.
Sonosaurus is doing this pro bono for us.
Hmm?
Just letting him know it's eagerly awaited...
Like the title say…
Extreme Time Stretching
So take time and drink a tee or something like that.
Sorry, my stretch amount has been stuck on 64x! Seriously though, I’m just adding a preset capability (useful for standalone mainly), and then it should be ready enough for a free app.
No rush, but excited to have it for reals. Cheers.
@sonosaurus please do not apologize!! You are doing this for the community for free! If you pull it off, amazing. If you move onto other things, thank you for trying. All good either way. And watch that developer burn out. It’s real 👍
And just to reiterate, it’s still an open beta, just install testflight and click the link if you want to use it right now…. https://testflight.apple.com/join/M7QK4j32
All good i was joking, take the time you need and watch your energy.
Thanks a lot for your effort.
Y’all are awesome. Keep up the great work.
Not to get off topic, but I recall a mention of an Au version of the pad part from DrumJam… is that still on the roadmap?
I heard about this and requests for it for years without knowing exactly what it is, so I hopped on the beta. I guess I was expecting something really special, not just another drone machine. Cool that the dev is releasing it for the devotees for free. But maybe I’m missing something here?
Still on the map... Pete keeps bugging me about it too!
It's mainly just a classic and special ambient drone making machine, I'd say that's a fair assessment of its primary strengths. Although perhaps others have discovered some other interesting use cases....
[Edit: as others have said, it’s also a great sound design tool…]
Yes. For instance a really wicked Sounddesign tool and “Re-Sampler” to bend existing Samples into sth new. Make a Pad sound out of a Snare..
Get creative!
//Somewhat reminds me of the mighty “Synthesize Loop” Function of the EPS16+.
Grateful to have it accessible like that and for free.
Peace
The simple fact that many parameters are adjustable makes quite a difference for me.
Love your work, including Sonobus! 😃👍🏼
Check at around 11:49 on this video for nice use of PaulXStretch. Using it to process individual samples in a DIY sampler instrument. Love this dude.
Lol. Just curious. I’m just excited about it, as I’m sure Pete is too. Do your thing, we will be here to purchase when it’s ready. Thanks!
Ha! good point.
I wonder why he doesn't charge a little for it. I realize Paulstretch is open source but can't he charge for his particular efforts here? He'd make a little pocket change for sure.
Maybe what you are missing is that a lot of people who have used it on the desktop and loved it, wished it were on iOS. It is particularly good at what it was designed to do and nothing else on iOS quiet does what its specialty is.
That's all, there is to it. A much loved tool coming to iOS. As with any tool, not everyone will find it special.
Tired of droning? Run it through a gate (eg, Koshiba or Gatelab) and it becomes a trance synth.
^bump
...and I'm nagging again...
Funny thing i was walking about the city and had to think of this plugin too today
Funny thing I used it on my iPad today 😉😜
Why not use the TestFlight version?
Well, @sonosaurus has roughly a month and a day to either release PaulXStretch to the appstore or update it on TestFlight before the build expires. SO, wait and see I guess?
I don't really see the rush. App is great, I've been using it left, right and center. We all have free access to it via the open beta, let the dev release in his own time. There is still at least one bug that needs squashing though, and Jesse may be waiting for that to be fixed before going for full release.
Because I don't want to? Testflight is not installed on my iPad and I don't do beta software...
Fair enough. I wasn’t trying to be a smart arse, I was genuinely curious. Just seems odd to me given it’s available to all and working well, albeit beta.
