    @rygrob

It would be nice to see the note or notes in each circle.

It was also be really cool to either set a velocity range, min/max on each midi lane so the notes can have some randomness to the velocity. OR a velocity offset slider so the velocity can vary a certain amount from the set velocity on each midi lane.

    Everything exposed is always welcome

Congratulations on an amazing release. love the app.

Thanks everyone for checking out OODA! Displaying which notes are on the steps isn't out of the question for the future but for now my preference is towards a little ambiguity there :)

Also, no scales, OODA only works with what you record in and therefore sounds unique to you.

Feel free to send me an email or a dm with ideas/bug reports.

+1 for full parameter automation and more distinct AUv3 parameter names. Being able to control everything in a modular host like Drambo would be more than fun!

Ooh, I’m firing up Drambo to try OODA right now. ZOA works amazingly well with D, so I’m expecting good results with OODA.

Here’s my first crack at OODA (along with ZOA) in AUM. Thank you Ryan, for yet another amazing and fun musical app!

Btw, I LOVE the ambiguous concept!

I can’t see that @rygrob has included an idiot-proof scale selector in Ooda (? - maybe there’s one there, and I just didn’t find it - naturally I didn’t do anything sensible like watch a tutorial video yet!)

    >

Haven’t bought it yet but I don’t see anything in the screen grabs or manual about built in scales.

The scale is just dependent on what notes you enter…
OODA only works off the notes it’s given so it doesn’t make a huge amount of sense for it to have scales selection

It’s not possible to know less about theory than me, but wouldn't that apply to any instrument or DAW that offers scales? The scales allow dummies like me to not enter shite notes. Maybe I am totally missing the point of how this works. Very possible.

Piping it through a quantizer like Rozeta Scaler works

@gusgranite @BirbHope : yes, as I said above, as a know-nothing non musician, I’m using Scaler to keep it in line, just dial in the same key/scale across Ooda-into-Scaler, then it’ll play nice with apps like Zoa where you can set the scale in app. @Edward_Alexander : great work there!

  • how long is the intro price?

  • @Svetlovska : it was reported to be 72 hours from the drop yesterday.

Ah! I read your post where you said that and yet it didnt register. I didnt realize Scaler was part of Rozetta. Will try, thanks :-)
And the piece you posted was lovely!

  • Haven’t kept up with what it does but I bought it 😂

  • An undo button would be nice.. unless, I missed it..

    Doug explains all:

Ooda is released and on sale for the first 72 hours. Only $3.99, will be $7.99 after that.

Right. I missed your post. Good stuff!

  • Seeing the notes would be nice but not essential since you can't really change them once in there (I don't think), I guess it's influenced from a piece of modular gear where you wouldn't see the notes either. Less unnecessary distractions etc.

Although at times I'm not sure why the sequence changes as it does. For example if I change the pace from one setting to the another and back again to the original pace, it sounds different, rather than returning to the how it sounded when originally on that pace, not sure if that's working as it should or a bug. It's fun to play with though :)

  • Another scaling for dummies solution is to route atom 2 to ooda, use the map to whites feature to set a scale, then connect your keyboard to atom 2 and just play whites

Ryan has a series of maybe 5 or 6 vids on Ooda, for those who may have missed them, that are extremely clear and well done, essential viewing 👍

There is one for the main sequencer steps. @rygrob showed in one of his tutorial videos on his Audio Symmetric channel. But it’s escaping me at the moment.

If you're using OODA in AUM, it might be because AUM's Play/Pause button continues from the previous beat position. To get repeatable results, you need to Rewind (in AUM) before Play.

Glad I did. What a fun app!

  • It's great if the latch buttons were midi mappable.
