Sector as AUv3. If that happens we'll be so engrossed the App Store could fade away entirely and we wouldn't even notice. Most nations' GDP expected to drop significantly as well.

Older IAAs like SECTOR, Seekbeats, Samplr etc may become endangered. These I consider ‘completed’ rather than abandoned.
While these apps perfectly justify an offline device for continued access (is how I preserve them), them no longer allowed to be sold would be a loss for us and potentially affect devs actively developing other major tools (f.e lack of income from SECTOR sales may affect development of AUM - which so far never charged for updates, not even major ones and used by many of us.

Now... how do you know what those developers are doing? Perhaps they are actively working on updates. Have they said anything to support your conjecture?

I haven't updated SECTOR or BitWiz Audio Synth for years, so I guess they are endangered. Simply rebuilding them with recent xcode versions would be a PITA because of all changes in the iOS SDK since then. They were even written before AutomaticReferenceCounting existed :) And yes, I consider them "complete", but I hope to find time to make new AU plugins based on them.

OK, but if they are still generating income for you does updating them make more sense than letting them lapse and disappear? As a business owner, you make these kinds of decisions every day.

Do you have to argue about absolutely everything with absolutely everybody constantly? Unbelieveable. Take a break and play with your cats or something.

I'm OK blocking you. Why don't you do the same? Personal attacks are not a discussion.

  • You’ve been blocked for months. Perhaps you can manage to get this topic locked as well with your shining brilliant invaluable perceptions. Done with this for the sake of others. Sorry all for taking the bait, apologies to all save one.

@NeuM thanks for teaching me I can "ignore" users, particularly your consistent badgering and negativity around here.

A shame that bad manners and an apparent inability to hold a conversation has become common here. Oh, well. I'm fine blocking harassers such as yourself.

And don't worry, my response to your personal attack kept your original comment intact so it's clear who started this.

Not every day, fortunately. Converting their income to some kind of standard hourly wage gives me about 1 hour per month of working time per app. (Regarding SECTOR and BitWiz). That time is already spent on user support etc. That said, I will probably at least try updating them, if I can make them build with the latest xcode.

Imma be so sad when sector has to go away. That little voice in your head is telling you to just break out the slicing and warping of sector into its own AU. Or just add the slicer to the AUM file player.
(You can leave the sequencing part up to us. I'm sure we can figure something out)
