Flux Pro by Caelum Audio
https://apps.apple.com/app/id1611411940
Description:
Flux Pro is a multi-FX modulation plugin that transforms your sounds into colourful, characterful and dynamic tracks.
Do you want to add graceful stereo waves to your keys, dirty pulsing side-chains to your bass, complex striking filters to your synths or noisy mechanical glitches to your drums? Modulation is king and we're offering you the throne.
There are 3 customisable graphs which can perfectly sculpt your sound. Simply set the depth of the controls in the 4 effects slots, from which you can use a variety of 10 modulation effects. Are you in a hurry and need movement quickly? Easily drag 1 of the 48 built-in shapes onto the graph for fast and effective modulation.
Key Features
- 3 custom graphs that can be assigned to any modulation parameter.
- 10 different effects in four effects slots.
- 48 drag-able shapes for fast and effective rhythmic sketches.
- MIDI Triggering; One-Shot & Retrigger.
- Output graphs as MIDI CC to control other plugins*
- Control Voltage graph output to send to external hardware.
115 presets to get you started.
This feature is not supported by all DAWs.
Effects
Flux Pro has four effects slots from which you can use; Filter 1, Filter 2, Delay, Delay (Fixed), Width, Phaser, Chorus/Flanger, Rate Modulation, Ring Modulation and Utility.
Try shaping the Ring Modulation's frequency and harmonic amount to add mechanical flavours to your bass. Or maybe create some ethereal vocal delays by programming audio reverses an octave up with Fixed Delay's sample control. Then, apply a slow sine to the other Delay's time and feedback controls to create more movement.
Perhaps a mix approach, is your piano getting masked by a synth? Setup Flux Pro on the piano track with a boosted high shelf filter, some gentle chorus and additional width. Then, set Flux Pro's MIDI Input to the Synth, so that every time the synth plays the piano is given a little push to stand out in the mix.
Not good enough, want to get weird? Vary the formant filters' cutoff and resonance as if your music is flowing through someone's throat. Why not set the Fixed Delay to repeat every other bar at an octave lower so you can moodily duet with yourself on those lonely nights. Lastly, have quick oscillations of Rate Modulation to add percussive texture to your audio, and more importantly, save yourself the humiliation of recording a shaker track.
Flux Pro is both a stand-alone application as well as an AUv3 plugin, meaning it works within iOS and iPadOS hosts such as GarageBand.

Insta-Bought to show my support!
I’ll be using this along with my shiny new VHS synth which I also just Insta-bought.
I love this thing, it's insane!
Cheers for sharing!
Here is our video if anyone needs more convincing after Nu-Trix's excellent walkthrough:
It is also available on desktop but our payment provider seems to be down (they're taking payment but not actually registering that a payment took place) at the moment so we have disabled purchases for now... Just typical for our biggest release in a year
David
So fun to use, get it.
It’s absolutely brilliant.
Got it. Thanks.
And I understand you’ll be taking a look into the Tape Pro app now to fix some of the audio popping issues I’ve mentioned in the past?
This looks amazing. Great time to be an iPad musician.
Wow what a day for iOS. 4 apps on the same day and all seem fantastic!
Thanks for the support! Synths and modulation go hand in hand!
Great! Have fun with it!
Thanks for the recommendation, I hope you continue to enjoy using it!
Thank you! I look forward to hopefully hearing some stuff that you make with it!
Great stuff, enjoy! Yes, thats the plan! Would you mind if I messaged you during the development of a fix to ask questions?
It's about time that everything was available, iPads are so powerful now!
A less good day for the wallet! 😂

Absolutely. Just message me here on this site. I'm here nearly every day. A word of warning...I don't do beta testing anymore. A prior beta test (from a different company) nearly bricked my devices, so I decided to not do that anymore. But I can comment based on my current Tape Pro software, which I have on both iOS and macOS.
I am super excited about this app. I just bought it and started using it, and I really like it. Congratulations, it seems like a lot of people like this app.
I have to say, every time I see the word “Flux“ in an iOS music context, I can’t help but think of the Adrian Belew flux:fx apps, and my heart flutters a little bit.
Bought. Impressive!
I love that you can use the envelopes to send out cc values.
I love it. Bought both on pc and iPad. Thanks @CaelumAudio 👌
Wonderful, thanks!
Glad you like it. It’s the app I’m most proud of so far!
Thanks for the support!
As we wanted to keep the effects to modulation effects, this felt like the obvious solution to people asking why certain effects aren’t in there. It’s definitely made it far more powerful. I’ve had great fun using it to control CV stuff as well. We’re hoping to put a video of that out soon.
Amazing, thank you! I hope you enjoy using it!
David
Really pleased I was part of the beta testing for this on ios and desktop - congrats on the release @CaelumAudio - will be purchasing in my next round of app buys...👍
Hmm. I really like how you've incorporated the "range" settings in this app. That secondary black bar beneath the rotating knobs is a great UI improvement from other apps with a similar feature. Nicely done!
...and drag and drop shapes into the main timeline/bezier curve window? Genius.
Just found even more functionality... A/B/C levels... This things is loaded with options on par with a full featured synth. Amazing... In fact, I think if you ever make a synth, this is the way to do one.
And by the way, should you ever decide to create a vector illustration tool to compete with Adobe Illustrator, I think it could be really interesting.
@CaelumAudio that would be great. Cheers. Yea it really opens it up to basically control anything you want, anything that’s exposed in a host, with the envelope you create in flux pro. So freaking cool. Congratulations on such an awesome release!
FYI, @CaelumAudio I did get a minor crash of the AU in macOS GarageBand (not in iOS). It crashed and then asked if I wanted to reload it, and then it was fine. If it happens again, I'll try to make note of what was happening at the time.
Flux Pro + VHS Synth makes for some great warped textures
Glad you like it!
I’ve wanted to make a synth for a while… I have a few ideas.
Thank you!
Please do, I haven’t managed to make it crash in a long time so any pointers as to where it does would be extremely useful.
Synths is where flux pro shines in my opinion!
It’s insane and useful. Thanks a million @CaelumAudio
In this demo, I'm trying dozens of presets, one time you can hear it on the synth and the other on the drums. Amazing app!
Wow! Now we’re talking 😎
this is the app direction we need some more off: unique I must say.
Thanks for the repeating loop and sharing these freaking presets, after a while I got like in the groove and it became a fun track on its own 😂
Whepaaa, instabuy, my money is running out and low but I’m happy and have apps that I love.
@CaelumAudio : thanks for a stunning app and moving things out of order to let us shape it our way. You have created a massively creative app here!! 👌picobello
@eylvy Excellent demo workflow for making the “buy/pass” decision. Also good for those that just know they will use presets.
Is Nu-trix a member here? Good video for learning how to program the app and making something with a personal stamp.
@CaelumAudio This app is made for a sweet randomizer! Any chance you would be able to add that addictive dice for us random bass jumpers?
🙏
@Bob @McD thank you. I started specifically with "drum" and "synth" presets but kept on running because it sounded fun. Some sound really great, like, I'd suggest for djs to have several instances of the app with each instrument, and use the method like you would with the Koala FX.
As promised, here is a video controlling CV stuff:
Fantastic demonstration, thanks for posting!
I'm glad you agree! Enjoy the app!
As I don't use randomisers myself I'm not 100% sure about what the expected functionality would be. How would you expect a randomiser to work? Especially regarding the graph?
David
Is the graph mappable in Drambo?
Will envelopes be better than some synth envelopes?
Probably using app, while synths are still midi ( not audio )
