Like shockwaves pluckyness.
Do synths have different envelope quickness.
Will flux pro be better than automating some synths envelopes
Or gain a mix of modulated envelopes.
Lol.
Most synths can be plucky.
Can graph be automated ( mapped ) ?
I guess I will buy.
Forgive my lack of understanding, but can someone explain the Rate Modulation to me? @CaelumAudio?
I can’t really hear it doing anything in my experimentation (other than some sort of filtering) or in the factory presets in which it’s used. I assumed it was a time stretch/shrink modulation effect but it doesn’t seem to be. What does it do? Thanks.
Love this plug in, it’s like iOS’s answer for infiltrator 2
Wish it had as many effects and lanes…
You need to sell me flux pro ULTRA
Counts out money
Just bumping my own question as after watching several video tutorials, I’m still unsure what the Rate Modulation is meant to do?
The manual says it’s an effect “which modulates the playback rate of audio” but all I can get it to do is seemingly to add some noise to the signal, the playback rate doesn’t appear to change at all - is it working as it’s supposed to? @CaelumAudio?
Love the app by the way, just really confused by this one feature.
Hi @Robin2, rate modulation is an interesting one. The "playhead" effectively jumps around in about in a very short amount of time. This jumping around is effectively modulating the playhead position with noise. Because it's not adding noise to the signal, only modulating playhead position, the noise sounds like its part of the signal, not in addition to the signal so it will come and go and vary based on source.
Ah, I see…sort of…thanks for clarifying @CaelumAudio. So, it isn’t controlling the playback rate on a larger scale - like a tape stop effect might for example - it’s working on a much, much smaller scale; yes? More like a grain based effect (except it’s the playhead jumping around instead of the audio being split up into grains)?
Is it possible to use any of the effects to create a speed up/slow down effect or would that need to be done by modulating external controls within the host?
Much smaller scale, exactly.
Tape stop and speed up can be made with "Delay (Fixed)"; a flat line is 1x speed, a ramp up is faster and a ramp down is slower. - a ramp down at a steep enough angle will stop/play audio in reverse.
Brilliant! Thanks for letting me know @CaelumAudio, really appreciate it. Having great fun with the app! Cheers.
@CaelumAudio, the Delay (Fixed) is really powerful and enormous fun but I have two suggestions which could make it even more useful. Due to the way the effect works and because of the limitations of the Audio Unit set up it’s possible that neither are even possible but I thought I’d suggest them anyway.
First, it would be amazing if the effect also somehow had a ‘semitone’ mode whereby the node placements on the Y axis would snap to exact semitone increments of the original pitch?
Secondly, there is an inherent ‘problem’ with the effect - naturally, because of what it’s doing it needs to have audio in the buffer for it to start being applied. This causes a delay before the effect is heard after playback is started. It would be really useful if it were possible to somehow ‘preload’ the buffer so that the effect was heard as soon as playback is started.
Are either of those even technically possible? If not, ignore this! Cheers.
Is it possible for the one-shot setting to actually run the graph just once, then stop? It seems to operate just like retrigger… the graph runs continuously, and hitting it with a midi event just pulls it back to the start.
@CaelumAudio I had a crash with Flux Pro last night in AUM. Will try to reproduce.
