  • This is a huge update! Lots of goodies inside. For modular nerds, now includes a shifter register and random gates generator.

  • so what does the new looper do?

are there any videos or manuals that explains the new features?

  • Oh shit! Nice surprise update!

  • @giku_beepstreet Happy Holidays!

Thank you so much for the amazing updates and continued development, support, and love you’ve put into Drambo!

  • Great update as usual. Thanks!

Anyway, I hoped to be able to drag MIDI files from Files app to Drambo. But that is apparently not supported yet(?).

Really happy with the data folder visible in Files by the way! 😍

Did you also notice that the same folder that is visible in the Files.app is used by both Stand-Alone and the AUv3?

Most AUv3 apps that have a folder visible in Files.app 'copy' the files to a separate AUv3 container, Drambo doesn't :sunglasses:

Hopefully SunVox will get this functionality as well in the next update...
...so no more quirky file-sharing between AUv3 and Stand-Alone.

    Cheers!

    This is great!

Has this made any difference to the iCloud situation? I realise you can save projects to iCloud but I always found the lack of iCloud support in the samples folder a bit bizarre.

It’d be great if you could add a folder like in Sitala.

I'll let @giku_beepstreet answer this as I really don't know the technicalities when it comes to this...

I personally don't use iCloud for Drambo projects.

    What do you mean?

  • I would imagine Leo with soundformore will be getting some vids up quickly on individual features. I’ll try and get some new stuff up but need to find the time.

the punch in looper. does it just grab a section of audio and loop it when you press a key in the range set? i guess i’m not really sure what it is for?

Yes, that would be amazing.. until then, Atom midi import and the now record AuMfx is, nice..

Everything seems to run much smoother now also..

    thanks,..

Excited to see what the punch in stuff does.

A simple example for using the Punch-In Looper:
Have Flexi play a drum loop, put a Punch-In Looper behind it, switch it to Slice mode and hit the pads (or keys) starting from C2 to decide which sections are played in a loop.
You can press multiple pads/keys to play multiple slices in a loop.

@jakoB_haQ recently wondered why so few apps can do this, looking at a very old breakbeat mangler app, and here it is!

    Convolver is cool to have!

    Oh yes indeed! :)

ok cool i think i get it. is there a way to set the length of audio the looper loops? say from a 1/8th to a 1/4 notes etc?

hi there guys. just got the new update.
i’m trying to use the app but it ask about drambo folder which i can’t seem to find in files app. any ideas what the issue could be?
    @giku_beepstreet
There also seems to be an issue with no audio coming through when the midi rec button is enabled. you can only hear audio if you tap on “play” button.

  • Oh wow, I just had my first Drambo crash ever. Is there a log file I can send to @giku_beepstreet ?

I was working on an existing project from months ago. Tried to do the swipe to edit the piano roll on a clip/cell gesture (which I never do; I’d normally just tap on the piano roll button, but today with the update and all, I figured I’d try it.) and crashola.

Did you launch the stand-alone after downloading the update? (and to be on the safe side also reboot your iPad?).
(I've only been able to test it with iPadOS15 & 16 and it works in both of them).

Makes me wish @Audiomodern would also consider this for Playbeat 3 and Loopmix

Please add a button for velocity sensitivity and quantization here :'(

Please do take into consideration that everything has to fit on the iPhone as well :sunglasses:
It's just a few taps to reach wha you're after.

But I only want to mirror what's gpoing on on the right side now,

Is there a way to quantize after recording?

  • I have a question not specific to the latest update but for 2.0 in general:

In Version 1 there was the Edit feature where you could select a range of notes in the sequence and nudge them backwards and forwards across the timeline. I can't seem to figure out how to do this in 2.0, can anyone enlighten me?

The fun thing is that you determine the length of the loop yourself, by holding a number of pads/keys simultaneously: The more pads you press, the longer the loop gets.
And by choosing which pads you press, you're telling the Punch-In Looper which slices to include in the loop.

  • Great update, thanks @giku_beepstreet

A couple of possible bugs? The new modules don’t seem to be included in the ‘more specific categories’ option. For example, the Convolver isn’t included in the FX group.

Searching for a module and then selecting from the options shown doesn’t dismiss the onscreen keyboard when the keyboard is in floating mode.

After selecting the notes, hit the little arrow on the right of the popup and there you have them 😊

@rs2000 thank you! i never clicked that arrow in the pop-up that reveals the extra options. cheers dude

Swipe up on the clip in the middle of the screen and tap the right arrow.

In this manu you can use the up/down arrows to transpose up/down and the left/right arrows to nudge the clip left/right.

  • @Samu Thanks! I've been meaning to ask this question for months but always used clunky workarounds. appreciate the tip from you and @rs2000

  • A few days ago I asked here how to quickly save files from the " recordings" folder, and today it turns out that now we can access them from the files app. Great! For me, this is one of the cooler things from this update.

  • Thank you @giku_beepstreet for this great update, such a great app!

Somehow if I try to select all modules to move several modules around the Select All doesn’t work. It gets highlighted and quickly deselect all modules again. Have this problem since the last update and was hoping that this update maybe fixes this but unfortunately not.
Does anyone else have this problem as well?

Identified as a bug. Shame on me, I have iOS12 devices for beta testing but had reserved them for making compatible patchstorage uploads that always work on current release versions.

A fix is in the making.
