@AppJunky Please be aware that to correctly p-lock a button to its off state, while holding a step, you have to tap the button twice (once for on and once again for off).
And, if you're using the Bar Start Delay, the button must remain on until the beginning of the bar, because that's when the S&H is triggered to capture its value.
@AppJunky I don't own ChordBud but I'm often using ChordPolyPad for quickly building chord progressions.
You just send it a MIDI note per chord and the sequencing is done inside Drambo.
Maybe that could be of some use for you?
CPP now works as an AUv3 as well as in slide-over mode on top of Drambo, whatever you prefer (AUv3 for converting notes to chords and slide-over for playing & recording chords in realtime).
I'm a big fan of this workflow. I do wish there was some more parameters exposed in CPP (particularly inversions), but c'est la vie.
A nice set of toys is the CV Quantizer with the respective scale and the Scale+Offset module to shift the pitch signal from MIDI2CV up and down. Inverting chords would require a CV quantizer per chord to avoid triggering any other notes but I'm sure you'll find multiple ways to work around that
i have a couple workarounds, but you know....anything to avoid the extra steps is appreciated, but not required
Answering a question from the sales thread here:
The Scaler plugin (like all plugins that send MIDI) should have a MIDI output.
You can connect the input of a MIDI to CV module to any of these MIDI outputs above it.
That MIDI to CV will then no longer receive MIDI from the track sequencer but from the MIDI plugin above.
If you still want the sequencer on that track to trigger notes additionally, you can throw the track's left MIDI port into the mix by feeding both MIDI signals into a MIDI mixer, then into MIDI to CV.
Is it at this point possible to exclude the recording of a track that in it's MIDI input settings has been set to Receive MIDI 'always' ? That while recording in to another track. As I'm having a couple tracks solely running as thru triggers from other devices and now their notes are getting recorded as well when for instance recording an automation on another track.
I don't know if you can disarm a track from recording. But maybe you could consider using something else running on the side like MidiFire for the MIDI thru routing. That would save you some tracks.
(I'm assuming you're referring to Drambo Standalone here. If Drambo is in a host, then you have more options for routing.)
Is it possible to mute midi tracks?
It seems it only mute the audio but the midi is still sending datas is there a workaround?
@wim indeed it's in Standalone here. Simplest option would be to have exclusive recording per track, or to sort of solo-select other tracks with the recording. I'm trying to keep MF out of this as I have a StreamByter script that handles incoming triggers to be delayed per scales and which are mapped to the sliders, for presets of those I always had to write the rules for every scene switch for each SB instance, now with having moved that in to Drambo it's the easiest thing to P-lock the sliders to every clip, thus the MIDI IN has still to be active at all times and not overwrite the incoming trigger notes.
@Jeezs yeah that's been distracting here too!
Settings > Mute Style > change from Audio to MIDI.
[edit] Track Settings > Mute Style > change from Audio to MIDI.
You can also set the track to not output MIDI, then use a MIDI Output module instead, and p-lock its mute state.
@wim thanks!
Can’t find the option in settings
Sorry - it's on the settings for each track. I'll correct my post above.
Thanks a lot, I found it
I have two other questions:
1 - Is there any possibilities to have a pattern shorter than 1 bar
2 - is it possible to have more han 16 tracks
Thanks
Use the jump step component for this. Place it on the last step you want and set it to jump to the first step of the bar.
Yes ... and no. As was already answered back on May 28.
Where can I find the "jump step" components ?
One way is to go to the step sequence editor (icon that looks like a bar graph, then select COMP at the top-right. Select the step you want to jump from, then hit the + sign to add a component. You'll find Jump in the list. It defaults to jump to bar 1 step 1.
Another is to long-press and swipe up on the step, then select Components from the pop-up menu, then add the jump component as above.
Sound For More has a good tutorial that touches on the step components near the end.
Thanks again
👍🏼
In fact it doesn’t work, jump allow to jump to a certain bar inside the pattern but doesn’t allow to jump to the next pattern or I didn’t find how to use this.
If anyone have a solution
