Is AURIA Pro Abandonware?

I updated Auria Pro and tried it out
The app crashes when touching the piano icon in th upper left corner
The app crashes when trying to bring it out of background state
The app must be opened first before Audiobus or it will not allow you to open a new project
There are pops in the audio file when recording from Audiobus from another app Cubasis in my case
I eventually was able to record into Auria from Cubasis using Audiobus
I was able to open effects an apply them to my audio file Fabfilter Saturn, and Sugarbytes WOW
I was able to mixdown the file and export it to Audiobus successfully.

  • What an effing nightmare!

Auria was working fine before this update. Now it’s crashing, won’t recognize the $100’s of in app purchases I’ve made, etc. I tried deleting everything and starting all over, ie downloading Auria first then my upgrade to Pro and restoring all the purchases. I’ve been at this for over 2 hours now and it just keeps crashing and won’t recognize my past IAP purchases.

Sooo freaking angry right now. :(

I feel you, very frustrating. I wonder if that pop-up that comes up asking about the crash actually gets to the dev…

  • So this is what happens when someone stirs up the pot regarding abandonware? :o

It’s crashing on just about everything for me. It’s trying to charge me full price for all the FabFilter IAPs I’ve purchased over the years.

I’ve tried deleting everything twice now. Hard resets, etc. I’m giving up on this for now. What an aggravating waste.

The thing is… I’m actually a fan of Auria Pro. Or, I was before tonight. :(

It might be one of those things where the stupid App Store takes you all the way through the purchase process, including agreeing to pay, then at the very, very last moment tells you that you already own it and will not be charged. If so, this is not Auria's fault, it's the App Store, and is a very common occurrence.

I take no responsibility if you do get charged though. Never seen it happen, but ...

    Ha! Funny!

Perhaps Rim at @WaveMachineLabs can put up an IAP for $10 called ’Remove crashes’ ;-)

Like two little girls giggling in the corner, ladies back to your chairs grown people are talking.

  • Can’t they just use drumagog to replace the crashes with rides?

  • My Auria updates in the past went awful as well, but the last few had all gone surprisingly smooth. I’m kinda surprised this one has gone catastrophically bad.

I’m thinking I might just give up troubleshooting attempts for now with hope that the dev figured out what went wrong this time and releases another fixed update in short order.

Rim said he just submitted an update to fix the keyboard bug

    Thanks for the good news…

  • If you are experiencing crashes besides the keyboard one, please email rim at wavemachinelabs.com ... he seems not to be receiving crash logs and seems unaware that some people are regularly experiencing other crashes.

  • It always crashes when i go back from Midi editing and zoom out. I reported several times.

Have you sent him email and crash logs?

  • Only crash logs…

Has he fixed the MIDI editing with Apple Pencil yet? It used to be pretty bad compared to Cubasis in terms of the notes going where you wanted them to. You would tap on/near a grid line and the note wouldn't place as expected in any other DAW.

  • In-app keyboard now works fine, but the drum pads still seem not to connect with anything.

He says he hasn’t seen any. So, I think he doesn’t receive them.

The email address I mentioned apparently doesn’t work. Hopefully, someone has a working one.

Unless, you were persistent in following up, probably not.

I guess as a answer to the original post title question - No. But as Rim recently said in the Auria Forum:

I'm still actively working on Auria, just not full time (need to pay bills ;).

    Guess that settles it.

ngl, Auria is still solid, but at its core is still a 2016 product. Perhaps it will catch up, but not anytime soon...

Someone started a new thread asking for FELP with Auria
    The SAGA continues

For me the situation is worst, it crash at startup.
I’ve delete it and reinstall but nothing help.

I have noticed that the crashes I have is when the Sample Rate of my sound card does not match the Sample Rate of my project in Auria.
    iPad 9.7 (2017)
    ios 15.5

  • Auria is no longer supported by its developer. The app is only up on the App Store to generate any last income and should be reported to Apple as abandoned.
