Are you sure you’re using DRC? I must be losing it.
    …….

    😉

You must have mapped the cutoff sometime before…. And DRC is remembering it. If you were to uninstall and try again you would have to midi learn it like Samu said…. No big deal. Its a fun LFO…

The dashed lines around LFOH! indicate a feedback loop. This could be harmless but might be causing issues. It would be safer to put LFOH! on a separate channel unless you're also using it to modulate the audio passing through it.

Are there any scenarios where you might use a feedback loop like this in LFOH! intentionally?

We're talking about two possible kinds of feedback here: Audio and MIDI.

With Audio feedback, you'd start by routing an audio signal into the plugin and engaging the audio modifier slider to modulate the audio. You could then route that back into the plugin. You can do that with any FX in AUM. Results can range from musical, to interesting, to weird, and to dangerous hearing-destroying feedback if you're not careful. Jakob Haq has a good video on this technique.

MIDI feedback isn't exactly accurate in this case but it's the same idea. You can route the midi coming out of LFOH! to any of its AU parameters, causing LFOH! to modulate its own LFO to give even more varied modulations.

cool. I was playing with LFOH! the other night after I bought it... figuring out the audio slider AND midi stuff, experimenting and getting that dotted line often. Will check out the video. thx!

  • I like this app a lot. The dual audio and midi functionality really gives it a little more bang for the buck.

  • Thanks K-Devices for this wonderful plugin! Lots of depth and interesting usage here particularly when partnered with Drambo.

    Couple of requests:

    1. A reset button (cv control & midimapable) would be a really useful addition, allowing us to sync the wave cycle across a number of running LFOH's.

    2. It would be nice if when loading a preset, it didn’t overwrite the current midi channel / cc / audio mod settings.

    3. The patch storage/recovery system seems non-functional at present (latest iOS, various hosts)

3 - is it not state saving when you reload a project. I’ve used it a few times but haven’t reopened any of those projects yet. If not that’s something that definitely needs to be fixed.

Ah damn, i hadn't noticed that as I've been experimenting with fresh sessions every time - that completely sucks balls if true, will let Alessio know

  • Is this app similar to FAC Envolver? By reading the info they seem kind of similar. If I already have Envolver do I need LFOH?

They're very different from one another.

Envolver doesn't alter audio passing through it. It uses the transients of audio passing through it to trigger envelopes that send out midi. It doesn't alter the audio passing through it at all.

LFOH can alter the amplitude of audio passing through it according to its running LFO. It sends out midi from the running LFO. The LFO isn't triggered by or altered by audio passing through it.

LFOH has some really nice interactive controls, making it very playable as a modulation or glitch machine.

Also LFOH does something I wish all LFO apps did - allows scrolling through all midi CCs quickly and easily which can be very helpful. I wish mLFO did this.

Envolver definitely does alter the audio passing through it. The dry/wet knob would be pretty useless otherwise haha

  • Has anyone figured out how to make cc modulation bipolar?

You're right! I missed that - never used it that way. Thanks for the correction.
