Any further word on this problem? I tried working with LK again tonight, and am still losing the UI. Very frustrating, and after more than half a year I’m beginning to lose faith in Imaginando. I question the ethics of a company that devotes resources to developing new apps while still selling apps that just don’t function as they should.

    Which host? Or standalone?

If you search the sub or visit the BAM thread (or many others) you’ll see where they have said multiple times that an update is coming. They’re a small company with only so many resources so the update fell a bit behind. Now that BAM is out you can probably expect a fix soon considering BAM uses a lot of the same framework as LK.

It’s not as simple as “they’re just abandoning this app to make new apps”.

    Absolutely.

Yes, Imaginando has a staff of 8 people if I remember right. Their last new release was VS, which came out a few years ago, so they may need to make a new product just to stay profitable. It is in no way a sign they are abandoning LK. The bugs are unfortunate, definitely, but there are few devs I can think of, especially desktop devs, as engaged with our little community here as Imaginando are, and not just engaged regarding their most recent release, but with feedback on their whole back catalogue.

Exactly. If they say an update is coming, I believe them. For the most part all their apps are rock solid. It’s a shame about LK (I love that app too) but I’m sure they’ll get an update out asap. They’ve been open about the issues and are actively working on it (it seems). One of my favorite devs for sure. FRMS and DRC are 2 of my favorites. DLYM is high up in the list of best free apps ever. VS is unique and fun. And BAM is just next level.

I don’t use K7D as often but still really like it.

To those who were experiencing freeze issues, we have released a new beta that tries to address those problems. If someone wants to join the beta to test it out please PM me. Any feedback regarding the freeze states is welcome so we can know if this new version is more stable =)

Here's the original post from the LK thread:

"We've just released a new beta (version 1.13.0 build 299). We learned a lot while developing BAM and there were some major structural changes to our base code. With BAM we really wanted to make a rock solid product, that could be efficient, performative and powerful. In contrast, with LK, our main focus was updating the app with all the features you were asking for, and the structural aspect of the code was somewhat neglected since we simply didn't have the time to work on efficiency while introducing new features. With BAM we decided to take a new approach and rethink our previous code. We knew that this would delay BAM release (and consequentially future updates of our existing apps) but we also knew that our apps would benefit from this new product once it was done.
LK has now been refactored to incorporate all the new baseline code. We are mostly focused on addressing the UI freeze states that some people were experiencing and also on stability/performance.
Also, please note that LK underwent some major refactoring. Despite thinking LK has all the functionalities working, let us know if something got broken.

We're sorry for all this delay on updating LK. But we're back on action, hoping to deliver you all with a more robust and efficient LK =) Thank you all for your patience and for sticking with us!"

  • @xglax @sinosoidal on the beta: can’t seem to select the Chorder/keyboard/etc modules as input to record in a clip?

  • Hi, do the recent updates include whatever changes you made in the beta? If not and if there is still a beta that attempts to resolve the freezing issues, could I join?
