These are uncertain times for sure.
I haven't seen the Far Right so strong and not only in France everywhere.

As previously stated, the so-called “far Right” in France is still largely Left. It’s amusing how this woman is considered such a “threat” to Macron’s base. Aren’t her supporters also French? If they have a democracy of any kind there, those votes and voices are also supposed to be counted.

    LePen is a neo-fascist racist.

Where's your evidence? Just claiming something isn't evidence.

There is a treasure trove of information on this topic. My statement was not controversial. It represents the consensus of non-far right leaning people that have addressed the topic.

We have a long time (30 year?) Fox News/Rush Limbaugh devotee in our family. We can all mostly be civil for the most part which means we don’t talk about politics but I got into it a little with them just before the 2020 election. I was baffled to hear them call Joe Biden “Radical Left”. Fully believed it. WUTTTTT??? 😂😂😂

Joe Biden has openly attacked the 1st and 2nd Amendments. He IS a radical Leftist now. In fact, the Joe Biden of today would be unrecognizable to the Joe Biden of 10-15 years ago.

Arent u supposed to be ignoring me. So when will Biden be nationalizing our oil production?

Do you want to be ignored? Or do you want to have a civil debate and discussion?

    With you? Ignore please

You didn't quote me, but I take it that was directed at me? I suppose some might consider me on the right. I'm socially liberal and economically conservative. These distinctions seem to be a real problem for both Right and Left, but they're important.

Back to those old tricks. Citing the superior opinions of "the majority"... except when the majority opinions are at odds with your own. What ARE your opinions and why do you hold them?

That's the opposite of what Elon Musk has recently stated. The Left has moved so radically far to the Left that they now call a moderate a member of the "far Right" in the US. He has traditionally been associated with Democrats, but no longer. They attacked and maligned him over their bizarre and divisive political agenda.

    He’s a pretty unreliable witness I’d say.

I honestly don’t remember that, must have been a niche US of A thing. I always saw him as one of those rich kids ‘born on third base thinks they scored a home run’ types to be honest. That's just hyperbolic nonsense. Might I remind you that Macron is the one who reduced taxes on corporations there? (And by the way, I completely agree with drastically reducing corporate taxes to attract companies. This is something the US needs to do also.)

  • The thing that scares me the most is that people who vote for RN nowadays are much more younger than those who voted for National Front 15 years ago. So this situation will only get worse...

  • @NeuM : musk was liked by many because they knew nothing about his beliefs…which he kept well hidden until recently. So, people on the left liking him without knowing what he really stood for doesn’t make him a leftist.

  • @Krupa said:

In the US there are literal Marxists and Socialists in our Federal government. The Left in the US has never been more extreme than they are today.

  • Anyone know of a decent fucking music forum??

During my lifetime I have always seen France as very nationalistic and insulated from other cultures (somewhat like China) due to their extreme economic and cultural protectionism.

And what do you know about his beliefs? If he was a member of the "far Right" why is he so concerned about things like "climate change"? That is not a conservative/Right point of view. That is a Democrat/Left point of view.
