But seriously, zeeon is great for evolving pads and much more
any synth will work, there isnt a "best" add a decent reverb

Drambo wavetable synths are actually very impressive for me. Also, Buttersynth is cool, if added reverb.
And I don’t think there’s any other app that has the concept of WT transformations as drambo does. Of course I’m quite partial to drambo as it has a reserved spot in my heart, but really, is there any app that even comes close to that flexibility?
Overall… SynthScaper is excellent for this (after a bit of learning curve)

No i didnt . Thanks for that. Some interesting free stuff in decent sampler too. I guess you know that. You know theres a zillion ways to do lush atmospheric ‘cinematics’ isnt there ; id could probably use paulstretch with a shimmer if i was going to throw a sample at an app to distort it into ambience… who knows there so many ways. The easiest isnt always the best it alludes to a preset mentality (which i often subscribe to anyway )…even neon samples down to granular
I never fell in love with Xinematix tbh. I think it was farcically overpriced at launch ($1000 for all those packs lol, gimme a break), many of the sounds didn't do it for me, the UI looked very cheap for such a supposedly premium instrument, and I'm generally not crazy about romplers, I'd really mostly rather stick with synths. Just my very personal preferences here, I know many people love romplers and find Xinematix very good value at $20, it's just not really something I personally can get excited about, even at that price.
Ouch! Yes You’re right about that bizarre introduction but at $20 it’s worth it I think. Another ‘shoot himself in the foot’ was how the sounds are scattered willy nilly making it hard to find what you’re looking for. Maybe they thought it was actually going to be used by Hollywood 🤪

Absolutely! Or any mpe synth, or any regular synth with some modulation, run through a few nice fx apps I guess it also depends what someone means by 'cinematic', as that's a very broad term. If it means orchestral scores, then iOS is probably not as good a choice as desktop. If it means more just 'atmospheric', then there are a million different great ways to do that on an iPad, for sure.
SampleScape from 4pockets are a new and fresh candidate for this genre.
Ahh yes….Aparillo IS amazing . My wife and I have been quite happy with it, and that led to a quite humorous moment the other day while working on a song . Dana made a joke about using it as a bass synth and was quite horrified when I made a crude attempt at making a “normal” patch in Aparillo . It just seemed …wrong, like swatting a mosquito with a hatchet
Yes after going back and forth deciding which iOS synth to get I think I’m just going to pick up Zebra Legacy and Spitfire Symphony Orchestra: Discover to get started on desktop.
Although Aparillo is quite tempting at the current sale price!
