Drambo is the obvious choice, but I've found lately that either GR-16 or Korg Electribe Wave really offer amazing potential by themselves

The last 2 are cool ideas, the constrained box-unto-itself idea is a stimulating challenge and does seem to be the deal as @Slush notes. (Not that either of those 2 apps are that constrained…)
Fun. You got me leafing through my Groove Box folder…and there’s always iMPC Pro 2 (studio these days I guess. Maybe the older iMPC Pro…)

  • Pure acid would be another good choice

  • Drum computer too

  • OK, with just one app it gets a bit more tricky...

...it would be a very close tie between Drambo and SunVox for the iPad and GarageBand for the iPhone...
There was never any rules on how many devices we could bring with us :sunglasses:

Great suggestions...Yeah the limitations really force you to be creative and happy with the features rather than reaching for another plugin

I just bought Beep Street‘s iSequence, which could be another good option for this kinda thing

  • Here’s one I made 3 years ago.
Not only Gadget, but only Wolfsburgs in Gadget.

iSequence lives in a special place in my heart. One of the very first apps I bought, on the iPad #1. Far simpler than his Drambo, and abandoned, but so very inspiring and fun. I wish AudioCopy could be fixed and it still exported .wav

@Samu SunVox is king high. If i could break out of the groovebox box suggested by the first video, SunVox is top tier…

  • Wotja 32, Deflemask, Soniface, Different Drummer, Jasuto, Aphelian, Tabletop, Soundscaper, Auria Pro, Klimper, Elastic Drums, Poly 2, Patterning 2, rrarrow

  • my choice: Nanoloop. it i get a chance i'll post one of my minimal things here.

  • Right, here's my second entry for the "single app" challenge.

Production notes in the description. No IAPs, no external Gadget-compatible apps. Okay, so I "cheated" and used TwistedWave to normalise the output signal to -3dB so the track didn't clip from SoundCloud's shite lossy compression. 🤣 Whoops.

  • Made some JRPG vibes with Darwin in Korg Gadget2. 11 tracks. Wanted to play with using more "ear candy" sounds.

  • @jolico and @jwmmakerofmusic

Such different emotions but both really danceable tracks! Like two different DJs lol

  • That's all generative? Wow

Absolutely. Wotja or Drambo would be my #1 desert island app. Either would keep me entertained till I ran out of coconuts and fresh seafood

Here's another - again all Wotja, but a bit different...

One more - this time Wotja as a MIDI controller, driving 7 instances of Bleass Omega. The only patches used are those published by @thesoundtestroom , which are great fun

  • @monch1962 Brilliant, perfect use of the patches.
Many thanks for using them, it was interesting to hear how someone else interpreted them👍😊

  • Looking after my wife who's recovering after an operation. I thought I'd try something to maybe help her relax and get some sleep...

Multiple ID-700 instances through an Alteza. I really love the sounds you can get out of this synth - it still has that distinctive FM bell sound, but the mass of oscillators, waves, filters and functions gives you a ton of flexibility

    Amazing creations so far, bravo!!!
I’m still working on mine, so I feel a little behind but I will say this challenge is really making me learn Drambo, MIDI and synthesis at a deeper level. I have restricted myself to Drambo modules only, quite challenging but rewarding - stay tuned!
