2018, I’m new to this game. I was so confused at first. I bought Sunrizer because I saw it in a Sweetwater YouTube video, and after that, I bought Zeeon because of Jakob Haq. He was right, it is an awesome synth. Thanks to him because at first, I was really confuse. When I bought the Audiobus app, it was the ah-ha moment for me.

  • March 2010, this is from my first App Store receipt, I ended up buying the paid version in July that year, but my first purchase was Propellerhead's ReBirth in May, which had introduced me to music production 13 years earlier. Good times

  • First audio purchase looks like iSequence, but I guess my first synth is iMS-20

  • Interesting, this didn't show up in the receipts. Also: Apple didn't do a good job of keeping track of currency back then :D

Argon? What is the new name of this synth now? I guess Satoshi published it recently with a new name?

  • You guys are babies! 😆

  • Loopy was my gateway drug

There’s no new version of this particular synth but I’m sure there are parts of it in the newer synths. I opened Argon in AUM and drove it with Rozeta Bassline tonight for old times sake. Got some very useful stuff out of it. 😎👍🏼

Lol, actually the first iOS app I bought was Beatmaker 1 around 2008ish but I don’t t even see it in my purchases anymore, that app completely blew my mind at the time,

  • There’s a few more but they don’t qualify as synths, Tone Pad and Smule Ocarina.

    and it still works !!

but probably this one was most important

, literally changed the way how i make music forever .. what a pity it doesn't work anymore, even through there is ns2 i would still love to use also ns1 .. i should probably buy some ancient ipad 😂😂

  • Not sure if this counts but it’s the first sound related one on my purchases

  • Looks like I’m just a young whippersnapper when it comes to this iOS music making stuff… I’m quite pleased that GS and Noise are still the two apps I use the most… or perhaps I’m just stuck in a rut 😊

  • OOOo Tabletop - what a giga promising app it was, and how terribly it ended.. what a pity, wasted potential ..

  • Some early ones from me. Some of the real early apps are not listed any more.

  • Earliest music apps:

A few more novelty type apps followed, then:

Which I didn’t get on with at all!

And the big one, which changed everything:

  • I had several before but this is when everything has changed

  • Thought I was an early adopter. Seems I’m just a baby 😊

  • Oh yeah, I started way back in.. ‘18. Um. Anyway, these two were first.

I saw that. Seems like 2010 was a popular year for a few of us.
