within the next 2 weeks, my mind was fully blown by the possibilities and i bought 20 more music
apps
Minisynth wasn’t pro then, i noticed the store calls nlog by its new name in my list now too…
Guess I was a little late to the iOS scene.
I like Jordan but never used his early synths. Same for Gadget. @CracklePot got me started with Cubasis and I never looked back.
I'm going to offer first music app, first daw, and first proper synth...
Weird, because I was pretty sure iMS20 was my first, purchased on Christmas Day 2012, as a present to myself to go with my first ever iPad, so don’t quite understand how I’m shown owning some other apps since 2009…? (Although I do indeed own(ed) all those listed.)
MiniSynth
Wow, iDrum from 2008 for me.
Looks like you gave up on Facebook.
Many years ago, hate that company.
They now wants to be more like Tik Tok so, things gonna be worse and worse, brace yourself.
Audiobus forum and Reddit it's all I need now
I don't need a screenshoot. Still I'm able to remember: Korg Module Pro.
Loopy for me. Read a little write up in the Chicago Tribune.
Bought an iPad solely for that.
It's funny how many people bought an iPad only for 1 app. I bought my first iPad to play The Room. I read that some people bought an iPad only for Nave, or iVCS3, or Borderlands Granular, or Smplr, or TC-11, etc.
Obviously, I do many things with my iPad, but at first, I was sincere and it really was only to play The Room.
The first iPad app I ever downloaded was iMachine in 2012. The first official synthesizer GrainProc.
Yes, Animoog was the jaw dropper.
And it was, I think, only $1 on release as a promotional price.
First synth I bought was the retronyms synth. Second one is where I fell in love, the korg iMS-20. Had so much fun programming that thing from 2012 onwards, still one of my favs. These days I mainly use it in gadget though. Wish it were auv3 (and functioned as an effect as well as an instrument).
Music Studio was the first for me in 2013. I was blown away by the variety and quality of sounds I could get out of an iPad 4. Some of the sounds still hold up today.
Like so many others. My first big boy synth was Thor
Don't have a screenshot handy, but pretty sure it was Propellerheads Rebirth (RIP, though it still runs on my M1 iPad last I checked)
Just a bump to my old thread.
It was Moog Model D my first synth on iOS
May 2014

Another old-timer here!
Bought an iPad 2 for Xmas 2011, after a friend showed me iKaossilator.
For me, the strange music app ‘Band’…
Can still use it on my iPod Touch from 2008… Impressed that the battery can be charged after 15 years!
What is reBirth?
