app that has human voice sounds?
afternoon audiobus community!!
was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for an auv3 app/synth/sampler that has human voice sounds. stuff like “oohs” and “aahs” or whatever. ive used pipa but couldn’t really vibe with it. pretty buggy and sounded mostly just like a synth.
right now im obsessed with this one preset(voices and glockenspiel) in a fingerlabs melotron app but wanting to know if there is anything else out there.
thanks in advance to you all. much love! stay inspired!

Well, straight choir voices in BeatHawk choirs, Korg Module Monumental choirs, PureSynthPlatinum and some in ISymphonic. Plenty of oohs, aahs and even some ehsin BeatHawk.
hell yeah thanks ill check these out!
AddStation has some interesting vocal patches.
The “Korg Module Monumental choirs” has a “Duh” for that Swingle Singers shit the Ferris Bueller theme.
Of the list the @LinearLineman produced I wonder what is the cheapest. I suspect most SF sound fonts have some vocal
Presets. I will look using a SoundFont app like my current fav “KQ Sampei”.
Yep. Lots of sf2 I found and loaded in KQ Sampei with choir iOS and solo vocal doo. I think I spilled a little vocal doo on my socks. Time for some new socks.
Korg M1
For no connectivity, Talker! Ain’t too shabby. Only Audioshare export though.
Edit. Oops I see you said Au my bad.
Pure Synth Platinum has some decent choir & Vocal sounds.
Roll your own?
Get any singers you know to say “Dah, Doo, Run, Poo, Too, Rah, Mah, Ding, Dat, Dong”. Chop and import into sampler of your choice.
I’m thinking about starting a sampler project here in the Forum using recorded materials that can be proven NOT to use anyone’s IP. I’ve got some street recordings and such.
Is anyone interested? I think I’d call the Project “PostedNotes”. I’ll host a big “Forum Dropbox” just to complete with PianoBook.co.uk because they only serve us via Decentsampler and most of their handmade stuff replies on Kontakt modulators.
Again, is there any interest in “PostedNotes”? You post the original recording and then are free to make files in other formats like AudioLayer Instrument files/folders and drop them in along side the original and no one can claim IP infringement. Of course, someone will drop a recording of some perfectly recorded $79 IOS Organ app (for example) and the community must call it out and delete it.
I can imagine AddStation offering a lot of potential for creating vocal sounds. Doing it may deserve its own thread here.
@McD I've played with vocal wavetables a bit (you'll find these in the Drambo factory demo "Drambo On Waves") and I like the flexibility of them. If the wavetable is built well (meaning that all vowel transitions are available next to each other in a wavetable), they can be much more expressive than samples. Disadvantage is that it takes more time to get the sounds you want, and combining vowels with consonants in a convincing way is not trivial.
The best: Jussi by Klevgränd!
Jussi Björling was an swedish tenor (probably the best ever after Caruso)…
Jussi for male voice, https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/jussi-vocal-synthesizer/id1151014469
Sopranotron 2 (iaa only, female, also strings etc, works fine in AUM) https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/sopranotron-2/id1447101182
and
Pipa Vocal Synthesizer (male and female ensembles, most flexible): https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/pipa-vocal-synthesizer/id1540736941 - I note you tried it, you have to mess with the dynamics envelopes, but it can get really good, imo.
If you really like that VST preset, you could consider using the autosampling capability in AudioLayer to make your own IOS version of it. There are some AudioLayer experts here, but tbh, I always found it opaque to use, and so don’t.

I was pretty sure there was a vocaloid-type app in the past
There is today the Vocaloid Editor, but it seems to be japan-only
https://apps.apple.com/app/mobile-vocaloid-editor/id947797108
Don’t forget the mighty Blocs Wave.. Many packs do have vocals… there may even be dedicated vocal packs..
Edit… Yep, Vocal Booster Vol 1.
I thought the names of Klevgrand apps were taken from the iKea catalog.
Good to know there are tributes to Swedish heroes.
How about parrot noises… they can sound remarkably human.
There surely must be something for Decent Sampler, somewhere out there…
Ikea catalog or metal bands from Sweden. Sometimes, it's hard to tell the difference.
I think it's free now on iOS. Is it a full version?
as mentioned by @Svetlovska, Pipa by Klevgrand is a very nice and convincing vocal synth.
No vocals in the free version. Must be one of the extra sound packs.
Decent Sampler for iPad offers the free Dave Choir…
Another way to simulate a voice can be done with granular synthesis, like FRMS, SpaceCraft, Tardigrain etc.
Or you can do something with vocoders (DerVoco)
Shut the front door… there are Metal Bands in Sweden. Is that wher “Puddle of Mud” is from? I know I could Google for it.
ABBA must be Turing over in the luxurious twin double beds. Swedish Metal. Holy Yngwie.
Sure. But it’s yet another one app file format. Arg. (I do like Dave Choir and many of the PianoBook projects in Decent Sampler.
But it’s buggy and crashes a lot. And IOS is probably his lowest volume platform of all her maintains and we’re too cheap to buy anything in his store.
@McD : the OP was asking for options. I cited Jussi, Pipa, Decent Sampler, AudioLayer… Not recommending anything, just laying out options. I have used all of them, and others, at times. That’s all.
Screen recording + audio converter and sampler of choice. I’ll leave it to your imagination where to find oohs and ahhs
Give this man a cracker
lol now can only think of that one parrot singing let the bodies hit the floor
awesome the first two look great! thank you for all the information on em
