Superrrr cool, looks like a raw vintage device, very unique tape delay on iOS! Love the GUI.

  • Looks like this is free on desktop btw

  • Damn they’ve been busy

  • Nice :) Now the Space Echo emulation and I'm set

  • Anti-GAS protest paused and plugin purchased!

  • Shame it's not universal, but I barely use my SE 2 to produce music anyways since its battery is shite, lol. Yeah, instabuy. :)

  • I loved watkat on desktop. Used it on many, many looping sessions for guitar.

I hope that's the next one. That way I would not have to buy the pedal.

    +1 🙌

  • VariSpeed oozes character… GAS-worthy

  • Here is my video for VariSpeed.

Great demo Doug, and nice to see you pulled in Tape Pro/Reelbus to push the vintage character even further. This thing does great on rhythm.

  • I realized after buying this that I’ve kinda lost interest in the more vintage delays. I guess I’m just a dual digital delay/rack mount delay guy, and that’s cool with me. 1984 baybee

Nothing wrong with a good digital delay. For me it depends on the job, sometimes there is a need for a pristine clean delay and sometimes I want to hear the electricity buzzing. And it happens more than often I combine different delays. Currently working on something with a combi of Dubstation 2 and K7D tape delay on the same sound.

  • Little shorts demo (view vertically)

Sounds great, krill synth providing the sound, midi from Zoa, Euclidean, midiGATEs

  • Not a proper video at all, just something unlisted that I did for a mate, comparing RE2 and Varispeed. Not exhaustive in any sense, but might be of use to somebody. I would have brought Echo B2 into the equation but there was no way he was buying two.

All these emulations sound much more lo-fi than any of my tape echoes… I would much prefer clean delay over them too.

Pretty sure I remember reading on the GSi website for VariSpeed that their version is actually cleaner than the original. Which tape echoes have you used? Maybe they are simply cleaner delays from a later time period?

The VariSpeed can sound pretty clean as long as u don't go wild with the feedback etc.

    I have 2x Klemt Echolette NG51, A Copicat and Dynacord Super 65 & 76.

They are all earlier than the IC400 Varispeed Copicat this is based on. I maintain them very well though so that may well be a factor here.

Lucky you! Nice bits of vintage kit 👍 👍

  • True tape echo is an astonishingly hi-fi effect, any other sound is down to natural tape degradation/poor care and maintenance. The lo-fi movement has a lot to answer for!

  • The upcoming GS-201 (Roland Space Echo) seems to have a lot of tape quality control.

  • Having not watched the video yet, will this do a reverse tape effect?

Damn this is a personal must-buy if it sounds half as good as the cheap boss pedal, which i reckon it will based on the current offerings, just lovely.

Looking forward to the sound on sound function. That was my favourite feature of the RE301 (that i miss so badly…)

Not the iOS version - that's the desktop version.

    Don't think so

Ah, so it's confirmed that it has reduced features? I noticed in the AUM screenshot they shared it was missing a bunch of controls:
