New app from Igor Vasiliev!? Vintage rack!
Can’t wait to see what he has in store for us
Comments
Interesting..
You just know it has a name like vintage rack and a description like that, but it will be some freaky deaky weirdness that is indispensable.
Dope, sounds like it will recreate several separate types of old hardware all in one. Modular too.
Vintage/Lo-Fi plugin with the same weirdness as SoundSaw would be an instabuy for me. Then again, all of his apps are.
Probably one of those things that holds bottles of wine sideways
“notable retro gear from the early digital age with their natural lo-fi and warm aesthetics”
Early digital - lo-fi and warm?? Hmmm… 🤔
If he really nails this it will be something that I’ll use a lot.
Zoom 1201
Early digital to me is early 80’s 😆
I want, I want, I need, I need! Oh no, GAS has overcome me again. 🤣
PCM2612 got that covered…
I will cream if this app is going to pay tribute to the Korg SDD-3000.
I hope it will contain something like hum/buzz/hiss modulation to bring in some electricity into the sound.
Might have to start flashing my own "vintage rack" in a bid to scrape together the cash for this recent influx of essential apps 👀
A well-plucked instrument?
Analogue warmth
Yeah - I’ve never heard the term “early digital” be described as “warm” before.
“Cold” and “brittle”, yes… “warm” nope.
In my vintage ‘rack’ (ie put away in the attic) is an Ibanez AD202
I have this mental image of Beavis and Butthead sniggering to the phrase “vintage rack”…
Did you see the new movie? I just watched it over the weekend and it was a fun, classic romp back through my childhood.
Not yet, but I intend to.
Cassette tape images seems very popular these days.
A revamp/modernization of his ol' MasterRecord and Master FX for the new era?
With touches of his experimentation of iOS with vintage recording gear?
That seems just what I need
Wow, you just made me realize that was him. I’d nearly forgotten those early offerings
Goalposts shift as you with age
Yeah... considering what he delivered in the "scape" days, it seems a different dev altogether
The one I didn't get from back then was the midi sequencer.
For me it seems it didn't do well. Can't recall which was its biggest competitor, but I guess it was Genome
Early 80s probably isn’t a bad estimate, but the few that were around weren’t great quality compared to analog effects.
It definitely depends on who you ask, as I wouldn’t touch any of those early ones, and it was probably late 80s when the quality started to improve.
Same here... and also...
Vintage Rack is a Dolly Parton app?
