  • Hoping for a bundle price for these, since I only got the desktop bundle like two months ago.

Short and modest demo of the free version:

How are the IAP's? I'm curious what you can do with the Tweak button and of course the oh so many presets.

The Tweak button actually opens up a full menu with Attack/Release, Ratio, Punch, Harmonics, Shape, Tilt, and Hi/Lo shaping. I also took a quick jaunt through the presets and you can definitely cover a lot of ground with this thing!

I know it’s “just another compressor,” but I’m quite pleased with it. It’s got quite a bit of character, it overdrives nicely, it breathes quite naturally, and it’s relatively easy to dial in. Not sure whether it’s worth $28 CAD but I certainly don’t regret spending it yet.

To jump in on the conversation above: in Toronto, $28 gets you a cup of coffee and a rather nice sit-down breakfast, or two cocktails in a dingy-but-not-dangerous dive bar, or three pints of local craft beer at any pub that has a kid’s menu (tax and tip extra in every case). IMO it’s a reasonable amount of money to spend on something you enjoy, but I’m also not going to pretend it’s negligible or criticize anyone for not wanting to spend it on a variation of something they already have.

Those 3 run about $16 in the southern US. I’m lucky and have a pretty good breakfast place down the street that somehow still charges early 2ks prices. A good omelet with toast and hashbrowns runs me $8. That’s a steal these days.

  • I remember getting a cup of coffee for a nickel… 💀

  • “It’s only the cost of a cup of coffee an hour”

  • I'm always stoked for simple plugins with a lot behind the hood. The Baby Audio stuff is great for me as it simplifies the process. Either I use them and it works or it doesn't and I try something else. Not too much tweaking to get my 100% of the sound (I think) I want.

  • Bought it. I know I just got Medusa, but from what demos I've heard, IHNY-2 also has a LOT of character, isn't all that subtle, and isn't "just another compressor". I bet this'll phatten up basslines and leads like a monster.

Sure would like to see you do a comparison on here between the two of them. Even just a few lines .

    Challenge accepted. 😎

(Oh dear, what ever shall I do about playing around endlessly with two new amazing sound toys? 🤣 )

  • Urp…tail between my legs, I have to admit that I am in love with this compressor. The tweaks are so streamlined and perfect. Def a new favorite plugin maker.

  • I gotta say..this one is really good. Go for the IAP!!

I’m so behind on all these great new apps. Been paying some bills down so haven’t had the extra money but downloaded the free version of this one. Sounds great!

It really is a case of a genius, modern, good-looking but simple UI making the compressor experience quite fun. The once-gold standard Fabfilters are now starting to feel a little clunky compared to this and Crystalline, something I’d never thought would happen. The Baby stuff is just so compact!
