PS sorry you never “got” Drambo.

    Drambo never got me

  • An AUM, a Loopy Pro, and a Drambo walk into a bar.
The bartender says “what ch’all having?”
Drambo says “it’s ok. I can do it”

  • Serious question, sorry: since drambo is so incredible versatile, how reliable does it work?Does it crash here and there (when pushing too far)?

Yesterday i had a very unpleasent situation with EOS Reverb in AUM.Changing the size to minimum created a MASSIVE (and i mean massive) feedback that almost blow up my speakers (and ears).I uninstalled it right away.

I had similar problems with Audio Damage Panstation. Their apps are excellent but they really disrespect their iOS customers. If Other Desert Cities hadn't been just so damn good I would not have bought it, simply as a protest. Still, couldn't resist.

Anyway, basically try to use a pretty hardcore limiter every time you use their apps, to be safe.

That happens with EOS, it’s a quirk. Still it is an amazing reverb.

Drambo never crashes for me personally. If you pushed it to the extreme then I am sure it would have a meltdown the same as anything else on iOS.

  • @echoopera
Thanks for the video, mate! That was awesome. That should be the splash screen for drambo in its first launch

other desert cities sits on the top of the list of things i want to buy tonight or tomorrow. How is that running?Should i be worried about my speakers/ears again? :)

It’s a great plugin. I use it all the time in Drambo and don’t have any issues with it.

It’s a great plugin. I use it all the time in Drambo and don’t have any issues with it.

I have run into reproducible bugs with documented behavior in the Mirage and Cactus algorithms (specifically with the non-integer Heads and Regen, and with reverse delay when using Semitone pitch adjustment), but it hasn't crashed or produced audio spikes for me at all.

    Do not ask questions.

    Just use Drambo.

It answers all questions because there are no problems.

Oh good to hear. Any chance you could share those steps with us so more of us can email AD about the issues. Thanks.

  • This is a great thread. I’m going to go into every single thread on the first 5 pages, tell everyone about how useful Drambo is and how it ca solve their problems, and then link them back here to share their thoughts and feeling about Drambo.

    Drambo.

    Sure:

    1) If you use the "Semitone" speed setting in Mirage or Cactus, and use negative speed, you don't get the expected reverse delay, just regular forward delay

    2) Tweaking the Heads param in mirage to anything other than the default makes the Regen misbehave (it's like it was capped or scaled to 50%). Interestingly, this change in the Mirage's Heads param also produces the same behavior in the Cactus algorithm.

Like I said, nothing critical and considering the experimental nature of those two algorithms I can work around the issues just fine by knowing what to expect with specific settings.

Haven't run into problems with it so far though I also haven't used it much - too many apps!

  • This thread proves the saying that rang round our studio for years;

    “You’re not the lead singer”

(I’m convinced that the secret to understanding most of what life is, no one is 😅)

It always crashes for me when I leave them open on the background for too long, when I come back there is no sound and if I change something it crashes.

It never crashes on me on normal operation, however some AUv3 crash and their status can´t be restored, you can use the autosave feature tho. But I would love to have "restore" option when an AUv3 crashes.

The answer to that is just not use AUv3 that crash xD (koala :(, D1)

Plus, have you opened the factory song "Drambo on waves" yet?
You'll find a palette of synthesis and sound processing methods inside the different tracks.
