Here's one. Hosted in AUM, but Drambo
I did a few videos showing Drambo's 2.0 features when it came out. This was the first one.
Here’s a couple I’ve done. First one pre-2.0
And post 2.0
Almost all Drambo tracks:
Here are a handful of vids I’ve made using Drambo 2.0:
Welp. I watched this and sure enough I was able to fire up Drambo, which had been languishing there in my collection of ‘must get to’ apps, and make a nice little loop for the first time. Previously I just opened it, tried out a few devices and said ‘looking forward to using this’.
So, thanks.
I love to hear that. Thanks for giving the video a viewing. I’m glad that it helped 👊🏼™️
Can Drambo import midi files? And if so how does that work with the clips and patterns and what not? I’ve never tried but I’ve got whole arrangements made elsewhere, that might be nice to give the Drambo treatment, but if it’s a huge pain or the midi all has to go on one pattern then it’s prolly not worth it.
No midi import yet, but it's requested quite a bit.
When life hands you lemons, make Drambo.
AHA! We found something that Drambo is definitively NOT the solution for mwahahaha
Hi,
please could someone collect the info from the new iap ... i.e. the formant thing, & put a nice demo/usecase of that (they said instant trance or something) on patchstorage or some tips&tricks for goa-holidays etc. - ta!
Edit/P.s.: Contain Yourself(ves)
Well, actually, it's not like there are options. You can host Atom or LK or Helium in Drambo for your midi importing needs. 😎
Yes!
And in fact, I think LK inside Drambo is a lot of fun. I wasn't getting much use from it, but with this setup, it's golden!
😉

@echoopera I've been on a rampage on your Drambo videos these days

Thanks for all the content
honestly the only hesitation i’ve had about using drambo is its name. (i know that the app got its name on this forum, and there’s zero disrespect meant towards the individual(s) here that did the naming)
i don’t know what my problem is. might be that it makes me think of the Rambo movies, which i don’t want to think about when making music, or ever, really.
meanwhile it is a magnificent app and a brilliant developer, a developer i’m truly indebted to because 2 months ago he quietly updated his magnificent 12 yr app iSequence HD, fixing a broken export feature.
It’s pronounced ‘Dr. Ambo’
+1.
LK is not only a good option to load lots of MIDI snippets but it also handles larger MIDI files quite well. LK has also undergone lots of updates to improve both the import and the display of larger MIDI files and next to NanoStudio 2, it's my top choice for MIDI file import and export.
that helps…a little
meanwhile threads like this always send me back to the titular app, and i’m duly amazed once again
maybe i could refer to the thing as Dr_mb_ as in the S_nV_x tradition. The app which, for me anyway it most closely resembles.
🙏🏼💗
i dont know why its taken me til now to subscribe.
Thank you so much. 🙏🏼💕
Using a midi keyboard with Drambo and there is a difference in the velocity/loudness of the notes played through the midi keyboard ( I tried both bluetooth/usb connection). if I play the notes on the iPad the volume is alright but through the midi keyboard , they sound at a lower volume. I checked my midi keyboard in Aum and all good there...
Is anyone aware of this behavior? and yes the master channel is set to 0dB
Thanks !
When you play the internal keyboard the default is to play all notes at full velocity. The keyboard, being velocity sensitive, is only going to send full velocity when you hit the keys really hard.
Try placing a MIDI Monitor module on the track. Play the internal keyboard, and you'll probably see the last number is always 127**. Play the external keyboard and most likely it will vary quite a bit, but usually be well below 127.
Check if your keyboard has a velocity curve, or sensitivity, setting. If not, there are ways to deal with that with other apps, or with Streambyter or Mozaic scripts.
(** If "Velocity to Pads" is turned on in Drambo then the number won't always be 127, it'll vary based on where your finger hits the key.)
And then, with some luck, comes the EU and finally regulates it, and the world gradually steps in line. Including those that love to criticize the EU for this. Upcoming (and relevant) example: Apple vs USB C charging for phones. 👍
Can the EU accept California’s application?
Without knowing a single thing about electronics, I wish the Lightning plug would've become the USB standard, but I'm still glad we're edging closer to everything being USB-C
