Trooper Synth
$6.99 Intro, 3 extra IAP preset packs at $1.99 each.
I don't care how different it is from Kauldron or Magellan. It sounds great, and I hope that my purchase will help Yonac make the next big app.
Got it!
The Trooper synth is absolutely worth it for the filter FM alone. Have the A-LFO modulate both oscillator and the filter, and you'll make wicked sounds in no time! The delay and texturize are also awesome. Trooper sounds beefier and more analog than Kauldron too.
Yes, they’re really fattening up their sound on this one. Some very Moogy basses.
Well, I bought two additional sound packs and then went through all of the sounds and I have to say, this time I like probably 95% of the patches that came with the app. Some really nice ones!
how is it compared to Model D?
More CPU-friendly, obviously. Also, it has a versatile chorus/flanger known as the texturizer, it has more voices, and there is oscillator FM in addition to filter FM. There is also a third envelope for modulation, and there are more LFO and oscillator waveforms. They are different animals, though.
Definitely capable of some very unusual sounds compared to Model D.
Can’t find any signs of oscillator sync or pwm (apart from ‘fake pwm’ by mixing ramp up with a detuned ramp down which will change the pwm speed across the keyboard).
Oscillators sync should be a no-brainer considering the extra envelope that can be routed to pitch!?
Oh well, I’m in no rush to get this yet…
No need to if you already have Zeeon, I guess - Filter FM sounds great with Zeeon too.
Lots of air quotes going on in that app blurb
Keeping an eye on this one. I wonder if it’s modelled on anything in particular, other than just moog? Sounds good in the video anyway.
True, but for $7 bucks 🤷🏽♂️
Thanks guys!
Yeah! Just wish Zeeon would have BIGGER CONTROLLERS. I have a really hard time to use the UI with tiny knobs and labels etc.
Zeeon in true 'full screen mode' similar to Magellan 2 or Trooper would cause a true revival of the app for me...
Cheers!
Yeah, worth it regardless
Now this is how you do an introduction video of your product!
Bought it, and the IAPs. My appoholism made me do it...
Hello everybody.
Here is a demo of the new Trooper Synth.
This is not a tutorial but I do some tweaking along the way.
Hopefully, the demo will give you an idea of how this sounds and what it can do, and more importantly, if this is something that would fit your workflow.
I hope you enjoy the video.
Demoing it now. The presets it comes with are a bit meh, haven’t got the IAP yet, but the sound is good.
4 short jams with all presets (including the IAP's)
Bought purely to support a developer who has been making apps for a long g time, has kept supporting many of those apps, and co tinies to make more.
I might even use it one day.
Thanks, Doug.
I keep the beacons lit for the Giorgio Sancristoforo of iOS... but nothing yet
I rather like this thing.
Thanks for that heads up, Samu.. I’m 70 and my reading glasses are 1.50 .. I don’t have Zeon but I think you’ve scared me off Zeon re the small lettering . It’s gonna be Trooper for me I guess even though I really do like the Zeon presets.
I have almost 'motor/muscle memory' on Zeeon layout but I've not used it in a while so I seldom read the labels but I wish the knobs were bigger
Yeah, one day, maybe...
To be fair, man, I have been really impressed with Branches and ought to invest more time into it.
Trooper reminds me of Model 15 sound wise but it’s a lot easier on cpu. I love that all the controls are on one page. I have a couple other Yonac synths which never really clicked with me but I’m really digging Trooper.
