The mixbox springs are very decent. They lack any real drip or splash but the modulation on the reverb is spot on and will suffice for basic usage. The standard one still gets the most usage here.
I was very dissapointed in the eventide one too and curious about the built in spring reverb of ivcs.

Had a chance to listen to Gav's and Eyvly's demo's today on good headphones and i do seem to hear a little drip so i might just have to give it a try!

And yes, the iVCS spring reverb is also excellent.

How can you say anything negative about Eventide? I thought I was the only one… 😂👍🏼

It was only after finally doing a side by side comparison of all of my spring reverb apps that I finally realized how lacking was the Eventide offering. Completely lifeless.

Wonder how Eventide managed to drop the ball on that. Do others agree?

Anyway, if there's one thing I can say for sure about TimeVerb-X, it's very far from lifeless!

Eventide apps never sounded “right” to me. 😎👍🏼

Agreed..reminds me of a debate I had with someone on YouTube stating Blackhole was the definitive reverb on IOS 🤦🏾‍♂️

It's definitely not the definitive reverb! That's a pretty farcical claim. But it's good at what it does.

Blackhole is that ear-catcher that turns the non-connoisseur on. It is subsequently abandoned as it gets old very quickly.

Yes, that was meant to be as snobby as possible. This modern Eventide stuff is junk. They’ve all got this faux-luxurious-sounding sheen that tricks you into thinking they’re premium effects. Sooner or later you realize they’re lifeless.

I would agree with most of that with the exception of a few apps, like I said. I'd definitely - in general - rather give my money / time to indie devs like GSi / Igor Vasiliev etc. Far more interesting. But Blackhole, turned down a bit, can be beautiful.

Kymatica and FAC are my go-to fx apps. I wish I could put most of the rest on my front lawn with a “For Sale Cheap” sign on them! 😎👍🏼

But these GSI apps do have my interest. Blaming @Gavinski for that!

Guilty as charged! How can you resist that lovely dirty feedback?
