@espiegel123 i just put a beta up for review, you should see notifications in the next 24 hours.
ios now stores user presets / tunings / waveshapes in the id700 icloud drive so you can manage them via the File app.
Terrific!
Have a feeling the answers no bit is there any universal app that could get close to this? Preferably not mirack as UI could be fiddly..
@modosc any plans to make universal for iPhone?
id700 runs fine on the iphone but the ui is impossible to use. i spent some on it but gave up - i'd have to add an entirely separate ui codebase for iphone only and i don't think that work would translate into more sales.
Sounds fair enough, it’s a niche market !
Thanks for your reply and if you ever think about doing a stripped down version then I’d be well in, it sounds amazing, hope you carry on creating apps ✌🏻
Thank you @modosc for your continued committed to this excellent app. Just bought some third party presets for the synth, the DMT Cymatics pack, and your import system worked perfectly. Such a brilliant synth!
Don’t worry about spending any time on it. Just mark it as preset-only with iPhone! As long as we can load presets and our own sounds the editing can wait until the iPad is in reach again.
Is this what the Tera Pro dev did (don’t own it)? Just has a couple of parameters available on phone I think. Seems like a good idea. No idea how much work involved though.
Is it impossible on iPhone Pro Max too? The resolution is larger than iPad Mini!
We can use zoom! There are a few other iPad apps available on the iPhone that are only really feasible with the zoom function and they work just fine that way. I understand why the dev might blanch with horror at letting that happen to their baby but, honestly, most of us without iPads would much rather have them like that than not.
As a developer I'd be wary of the inevitable crap App Store reviews from complaining iPhone users hurting sales.
It's not only about the resolution but screen aspect ratio as well.
Here's a MAX size iPhone and iPad mini...

Also if a developer want's to publish an app for the iPhone it has to work on all supported models...
Keep in mind that the return on invested time is probably pretty tiny for implementing something like this which probably already returns little on the time the developer has put into it. On top of that there are the inevitable bad reviews wim mentions from iPhone users.
I think people don’t realize how little these apps earn and how much work it is to provide a good user experience on an iPhone for an app like this.
Sounds like a good use of a kickstarter/gofundme style campaign, if the author is interested
i can categorically state that unless someone drops a significant chunk of $$ in my lap id700 won't be supported on iphone.
there is significant downside with very little upside. in this market people are giving zero star reviews to effects processors because "they don't make noise" - the effort it would take to explain to people which functionality is not available on the iphone would not be worth it.
