Tried a vocal sample import getting some crazy results back just trying to figure out the scan speed settings.
At first as a AU it didn’t appear to be scanning. But it’s moving slowly left now !
Bought and really enjoying it
The interface is fresh, engaging, very responsive and fun to play. There are many new ideas, i love the volume sliders which can be given a momentum to add a manually controllable automation within user defined volume regions.
The presets show the wide sonic range of the intrument, i also tried around with own waves as soundbase for granular experiments 👍🏼
The scanning is a combination of the relative "scan speeds" in the top left corner and the Scan Speed in the left XY pad. They work in conjunction
Cheers @brambos this one going to get a lot of use a ambient creator’s dream synth I say.
Raising the friction to max will bring the manually induced movements to a halt.
Where do we find Scala files if anyone can enlighten me?
So the blue shaded blocks act as a barrier and restrict where granular travel takes place ?
Yes, those are the boundaries. You can drag them around as you like.
Good to see you can use FLUSS in a effect slot in AUM.
Yes, the "Processor" mode turns it into a playable granular/shimmer feedback delay. It's possibly my favorite way of using the app.
Like a live-playable Microcosm.
@_ki : yup, I know. I meant more of a toggle on/off thing, so you can halt all motion, or re initiate it with a single key press.
Not sure what it does yet but I see Bram and I buy it. 🙂
I bought this blind. Opened it. Didn‘t know what anything did! I hope the video by Hainbach is explaining it a bit, but I know I will love it

Yes, all will be clear. No worries
It seems you don’t really need to know how to use it. 😂
I just put it in Drambo. Motion recorded some moves then played with the pitch dial. Success!
Sinterklaas bedankt!
This a bit like UAs Silo, is it not? Except there you can't import any samples. I was just messing about with it (Silo) when this was released so ... just wondering.
I don't really have a particular need for another synth, granular or otherwise, but that's not much of a restriction. You never know what might happen after a couple of videos…
@brambos
hows the cpu usage !?
thanks.
It's sort of usable on an iPad Air 2, but I'd recommend something faster. This stuff is pretty CPU intensive - both for the grain engines and the kinetic UI concept.
Is Sampletank for iOS ever gonna get AUV3 though?
Man this a cool one THANKS @brambos ❤️.
I LOVE that “friction-knob”
The “At Einhorn preset” seems to have some LFO action going on. Are there there a secret menu or should I just go back home and pick up my glases?
EDIT
Solved. When Friction is set to zero the “motion” will keep on going forever.
What a beautiful and innovative way to set up modulation…. Wow… just wow!
@brambos
bad news:(
it clicks/pops here
ipad air 3 and iphone 11...:(
My main test devices are way slower than that, so perhaps you're running it alongside other power-hungry apps? Or you're hearing clipping from using too many simultaneous grains at a too high level?
Try using fewer grains and lowering the levels a bit.. see if that makes a difference.
Could that be it?
Or you're using the super-sharp window shape (the cube on the left-hand slider) which allows some mild popping to come through (for a classic granular sound)?
@brambos
clipping it was...:)
thnx
Blimey. 5 minutes with the first preset and no idea what I’m doing, and I’m hooked!
Will try to organise myself for the videos this afternoon, plus download the manual, but so far it’s very much living up to expectations.
@brambos
hopefully this isn’t a rude question, why is it so big ? 407mb .. is there a lot of Hainbach audio files in the presets that i can ditch to slim this fatty down a little
Yeah, it has tons of built-in sounds. I'm impressed because I started only playing with a guitar sound I pre-recorded and after playing with the app - I found out that it even got you covered in the built-in sounds as well, so you can have hours of Ambient-fun. Also, lots of presets too if you're not in a mood to fiddle with the parameters yourself.
I would suggest Bram to add in the app's description that it has many sounds to go inside the app.
