the only subscribtion I have other than obvious ones like netflix is Sam Harris' meditation course/app called Waking up. I've tried a few of these apps and this one has a very good approach to mindfulness and meditation. Definitely good for my mental health.
And sometimes when I'm in the mood I renew my Melodics subscription and do a few lessons for the e-drumkit.
Generally, new customers of any product or service fair better on deals / offers than existing customers, because companies must continually look for ways to attract new customers. It's not ideal but it's a reality. If you use something for a long time or want updates, be prepared to pay more than new customers.
When I first got Arturia's V Collection, I think it was v4. I paid $200 on a BF special. It was 12+ instruments at the time. Sweet deal, but generally Arturia updates to a new version every year to a year and a half.
Those upgrades cost $149 to $199, when on sale. I've waited for sales to discount the base upgrade which is typically $299. V collection is now at V9, I have consistently upgraded until this year.
So, I've likely paid around $1000 for those updates, while new customers can still get the full collection for around $249 at BF deal. Is it annoying? A bit. But I also use those products consistently and the upgrades have continued to improve the products.
Choosing to spend on upgrades is a personal choice, but companies need money to keep going and support their growth, employees, etc. If you're a small company or an individual, that's even harder.
