Even though I have the other FM synths already I may end up getting this eventually (and it’s good to know about the zoom!) , but for my daughter to use mostly . As mentioned previously she vibed with Omega but it would be cheaper to buy this rather than get her her own copy of omega lol . So my question is, how is the sound design aspect of this vs the other FM synths available on the iPhone? Jay has an iPhone 12 . Or should I just teach her how to use nambu? 😎
Aparillo is the king of fm synths on iOS—especially for evolving fx. Whether it works on the phone I do not know.
iPad only.. I remembered that immediately because I got a lot of recommendations for it but can’t get it
Factory is another good one, but again maybe not phone enabled.
I feel like Phasemaker started me off on a better understanding of FM due to its easy accessibility. Then there was KQ Dixie that really gave my understanding some legs - and the benefit of the gazillions of patches available for it on the internet. Finally Nambu and Tera Pro breathed even more creative life into it. Phasemaker is where I fall back to for some casual fun now.
The question is hard to answer without any insight into your daughter's perspective, but that was my journey.
Is NFM available on iPhone? I know a lot of people say it’s one of the best for designing FM sounds from scratch. And the dev is a cool guy.
The App Store says iPad only.
Her patch designing experience lies with using my phone to make patches in Omega . She used Dixie to play dx7 patches I downloaded 😎
That reminds me ... Phasemaker has a controlled randomization feature that is nice. You can start from a patch and punch up new ones with a couple of variable strength parameters.
Hmm… that might seal the deal
Digging this so far… and hell the ui looks fine to me in GarageBand
yes and i have a preset pack coming out for it soon in FEB
I love it...Great FM synth and not very difficult to program. Bram Bos quality!
