Super update Matteo
Agreed!
Is it possible to record into Koala when it's hosted in Sand? Like, from the mic—not from another app?
@drconfusion @audiblevideo thank you!
this will be possible with audio routing in the next big update
Just found out about this app and did the 14 day free trial. Really dig the workflow, layout and what I’ve seen so far. Will test it a lot during the week.
Is this app still being supported? Just wanted to check prior to committing to it
So far this app is sweet with A quick simple daw like workflow. Like AUM kinda but with a sequencer.
Built in sequencer with decent/ still need to dig in, editing.
Time signatures.
Chord and bass line creation.
Song mode.
Routing synth and other app parameters to a control center.
Automation!
Count in recording.
Master track.
Built in keyboard with scales.
I haven’t tried anything with Midi yet but all the audio effects and synths are playing great with the app.
Any one have any feedback on this app? I’ve been using iOS since 2018 and just found out about this app on the sale thread. Curious why it isn’t talked about more?
I would really love more scale options, preferably including custom scales.
does it record mpe...!?
It's does!
I honestly think it doesn't get as much airtime because it doesn't touch audio, yet. Once audio clips are in place then i think it'll feel way more complete to a lot of people.
It's a pretty brilliant tool that handles midi really well on a small screen. I think it's approach to plugin layout is ideal for small screens. On larger screens i always want floating plugin windows though, which it doesn't have.
It records, plays back, and even edits MPE fairly well which is unique currently for a clip launcher (that isnt subscription based 😉)
@reasOne E good quiet on the iPad eatnaking > @reasOne said:
@reasOne Yes the app is still supported the dev said he hasn’t had a lot of time recently to work on Sand but he will resume shortly. He appears every now and again on the iPad beatmaking Dischord.
Is this another Nanostudio 2 situation? I'll take it! 😛 Thanks for the summary.
@Jumpercollins Do you still use it?
I haven’t for a while.
@reasOne He runs a roadmap on Cany.

You know what, thanks for posting in this thread and reminding me of SAND. It's actually really quick and wonderful to get ideas down fast. Especially if you're a heavy MPE musician like me.
The workflow in this app is really fast, and the scrolling full page plugin windows actually is handy when quickly working too.
I think I'll finally abandon AUM. I only use it for sketching ideas anymore, and SAND is faster.
Appreciate all the feedback!
The dev left me a reply on YouTube that audio is coming as well.
I think this and loopy Pro are all i need now for iOS daw.
@Tentype same here, aum is awesome for noodling around and MIDI sequencing… running hardware thru, but having to load up all the separate MIDI sequencing apps isn’t great for my brain lol. I’ll use aum for hardware with my multi in multi out mixer, but for iOS jams… sand and loopy are awesome
Small update today, but it really got me pumped for the large update in the works.
I just LOVE the simplicity of this app. Easily my favourite environment for sketching things out, and now with automation I'm finishing more projects in it too.
Glad for the bump here. I snapped this up in a previous sale and had a quick play and ended up with the same thoughts as you - so quick and easy to get stuff down. I then promptly forgot about it! As much as I appreciate GR2 and the all the love it's getting, I keep finding it super clunky to work it and I just don't get into a flow with it. Time to dive back into Sand for a play. If this gets audio, that'd be amazing.
@Tentype do you know if there’s a way to record midi from a midi aufx (eg. MidiStep)? I’ve tried but I’m sure I’m missing something.
Long press on the track header to bring up the options. In recording options choose "post midi plugins"
Gonna have audio input for Koala soon!
Legend. Thanks so much. The more I play with this thing, the more I find. There's much more going on that first meets the eye but it doesn't get in the way. So cool.
Like playing in a sand box
does SAnd allow you to use sidechaincapabilities of AUs?
Indeed!
