Yeah, it’s a bit much to take in at beginning with all its algorithms. An onboard effects section would have been fun, at least: reverb, delay and chorus.
I feel like MicroFreak is something that will grow more valuable over time, especially with its special expressive touch surface. I honestly bought it along my MPC One, NightSky, MicroBrute and Minilogue XD to have a future proof, hardware alternative setup… I’m still back and forth wanting a Hologram Microcosm to round out the flow. I feel like these pieces will keep my “soundscapes” mentality busy for many years 😂
I only got sonible smart bundle but sadly hadnt any time to check it out
What does this bundle do?
😆
I think the issue I had is that the filter didn't seem to add the character I wanted from it. I was used to the Brute filters and the SEM, as much as I like it on other things, seemed far too friendly and tame for what I wanted. The ideal scenario (for me) would have been going properly west coast with it and having an LPG instead but I appreciate that isn't what they wanted to do (and perhaps would have sailed too close to it being a Buchla-a-like, which they conceivably wanted to avoid)
I love your ideas as a West Coast synth!
The short answer is, magic.
The longer one is, it's a collection of plugins that "learn" the track or project in question and based on that do EQ, reverb, compressor, and limiter. It has replaced everything else on the desktop for me - but in fairness, I don't know much about FX and mixing. What I do know is that it makes better sounding choices than I do, and that's enough for me. I also wouldn't want to delve into manually doing all these things, so it's a win-win in my case. BTW you can also set things manually in the plugins and use the proposed settings as a starting point.
Sorry for not answering, been pretty buisy and didnt even have time to look into the forum.
Thanks ervin
Got a Behringer Neutron coming tomorrow 😊 They’re pretty scarce at the moment in the U.K.
It would be perfect! I tried the Cre8audio West Pest which is probably as close to an entry level West Coast synth as there has ever been, but I just didn't connect with it all. Some kind of fusion of it with the Microfreak would be a whole different prospect though!
Great deal!
