'When She Smiles' a Linearlineman & JanKun piano & vocals collaboration
@LinearLineman recently shared one of his brilliant improvisations which immediately inspired me some lyrics. I tried to perform the melodies I had in mind the best I could. My voice is pretty limited for this jazzy kind of ballad, but hopefully some of you might enjoy despite all the imperfections (including my cat's meowing and purring !)

Beautiful melody by @LinearLineman and a lovely singing from you, I loved it!
Nice work @JanKun weaving a melody through those chords and not hitting any side rails. I also like the visual imagery in your lyrics.
Beautiful young lady. Beautiful lyrics. Whoever you wrote this for is a very lucky person. I dig your voice. Maybe not quite Pavarotti or Bocelli, but definitely James Taylor or Harry Chapin, with a touch of Tom Waits. It sounds so real.

Thanks for listening @McD. I still don't know what to think about this. I was really out of my comfort zone on this one, in terms of genre, lyrics and singing style. It would sound a lot better sung by an English native speaker. But I tried the best I could and had fun doing it, eventually that's what matters the most.

I don’t know about anybody else, but for my money @JanKun your voice is a dead ringer for Chris Martin, lead singer of the band Coldplay. Nicely written and sung.
I was waiting for the muted trumpet solo 🙂.
I like where the melody is sitting and I liked hearing a human voice combining with @LinearLineman ’S instrumentation. I thought adding the vocal melody actually lifted the piano part and gave it more weight and focus than it might have had without.
