Thanks everyone for the positive comments and feedback so far!

    Some interesting thoughts going around!

I preferred 60 FPS on my devices

    iPhone 13 iOS 15.6

    iPad Air 4 iOS 15.1

    👍🏽

Interesting, I wondered if this would be the case on newer devices. My older iPad is just about happy at 30fps.

I can see that there have been a couple of crashes but there isn't any information about why that would be as there isn't any comment in the crash feedback. If anyone runs into a crash could they please let me know what they were doing? - I would guess that this would be a case of which host it's opened in but am unsure.

    Thanks,
    David

I sent one of those crash reports, I was in a short work break, so couldn´t get the time to write it.
It just crashes on startup on my iphone 6s, working great on my iPad.

Thanks for sending. Seems as though there is a theme of crashes on iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Do you have the issue when it is loaded from a host or is it just standalone?

Wow Choric is so much more than an Chorus, this thing texturizes and adds all sorts of weirdness and sparkle. I’ve already come up with 20 cool presets for drums, synths, and fx

This makes me think I should come up with some export/import preset function! Would be great to hear them!

    David

Sharing presets is the name of the game these days. Absolutely incorporate import and export into all of your apps.

It’s something that I’ve been mulling over for a while to add to our preset system. Would a batch export that just dumped every preset to a folder (chosen by the user) and then an import of every preset within a folder (chosen by the user) suffice? It’s a bit weird on iOS with sandboxing. On desktop we have it working so that the presets just go to the users document folder.

    >

In my opinion, the best app I've encountered for sharing and handling presets is the TAL-U-NO-LX synth. All of the presets are easily located (the actual folder can be found via the presets menu in the app) and then presets can be very easily be organized and placed into subfolders without using the app. It makes preset management beautifully simple. And it works the same on iOS and desktop.

this app is kind of amazing. and i’m not even that big of fan of chorus effects. also love the graphics. it’s nice to visually see what is going on with the voices

Same. Almost never use chorus but this is something else!

This was the motivation behind the creation of the app! I have a few chains saved with various modulators and delays on different busses to get the sound that I really wanted. I wrote the beginnings of this initially to be able to simplify my workflow and it turned into a product that we are really pleased with!

Thanks for the pointers on preset stuff everyone, I'm going to explore the best way for us to make this happen.

IMO, the gold standard of Chorus effects on iOS and desktop is FAC's Chorus plugin. If you can surpass the sound quality and options in that one, you have a winner.

They're totally different. Fac chorus is unbeatable in terms of richness, this is much more versatile

Try it! You have fac chorus already and the caelum one is open beta 👍

I no longer do beta testing. Had a terrible problem after one which disrupted the ability to use my iPad reliably. No more betas for me. ;)

  • Frankly I don't see that much difference between betas and releases... The majority of apps that hit the app store, including some of the big hitters, have not been beta tested thoroughly enough 🤷‍♂️

  • I see this more as an fx than a replacement, FAC is very hard to beat imo.

  • Here it is @Gavinski found it. Lol.

  • Real nice addition to the guitar, although strangely; there are no presets aimed for that (right now :) ).

  • Tested it with guitars only so far, made a bunch of presets.
Will there be a way to export/import presets?

This is definitely on the "to do" list!

Working on this as we speak!

  • Testing on an iPhone 8 inside Drambo. So far it’s been great. Love the sound.

  • Amazing sound, way more capable than a traditional Chorus.

The only downside but probably unavoidable with pitch shifting algorithm?

  • I really like this app, and the sounds I was getting from it. it felt a little heavy on my first test session but I might have not broken the cpu threshold to unlock the extra cores.

  • Hello,

The latest build should now be live for everyone! It contains a few fixes here and there along with a new preset manager which can share/import presets amongst other things; you can also create a folder structure as well which is currently limited to 1 level. To get to the preset manager please click on the information icon in the top right and then preset manager.

I couldn't get the iOS file browser to load folders (is this even possible?). I therefore might have to update this at some point to allow loading zip files or something.

As we can now share presets I thought it would be great to set up a drive where we can share these with each other. I've put 3 that I made whilst testing this particular function. Here is the link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1p15hOf0DZrB-0Cg7vmNi-PvObcxTZIFY?usp=sharing

There also was a crash on a iPad Pro (11-inch) (3rd generation), anyone using one of those with an issue to report?

    Thanks,
    David

Great to hear that you're enjoying it!

Polite request to anyone out there that uses an iPhone 13 Pro Max, I received an anonymous report about the AU not working on this device. I'm hoping it's the case that the device just needed a restart but I'd love to hear anyone else's experiences with the iPhone 13 family.

    Thanks!

@CaelumAudio i have to say I WAS thinking to myself oh another chorus... but WOW it blew my metaphorical socks off.

  • Hi All,

We've just released a beta for v1.0.4. The app now contains 2 AUv3's within the single app. As this is my first time doing this I wanted to check that both AUv3s in the bundle work and can be seen (and used). The new AUv3 in the app bundle is a Low Latency version designed for live use. To get the low latency, pitch shifting was removed from this version. It should appear as "Choric (Low Latency)" in your chosen host.

    Thanks,
    David

Looks good after a quick test. Will delve further once I’m done with Bleass… 🤪🍺

  • thanks for the low latency auv3 @CaelumAudio. that will be useful. no problems in initial tests of the beta here.

  • Cheers @CaelumAudio

    Will try out soon.
