Abandoned how? Was something left undone that was promised to be added or fixed?

  • This looks great! But why might one prefer this over using Drambo as a MIDI sequencer?

No.. but I thought the idea was to improve on one’s product.. They are such unique Seqs.

    Anyway, another thread.. My bad..

  • Tight scaling inside AUM only scales up and down not left to right.

  • Comes with presets.

However not seeing midi link control in standalone which I thought would be there maybe I’m missing something?

  • There is quite a bit to this sequencer so be good to see a tutorial.

Just moving this down the thread so people see it!

@mistercharlie It’s always nice to have a choice and probably cheaper than Drambo is one reason the layout different is another unless you think the devs jumping on Drambos coattails for a quick buck! I can see people waiting to see if you get anything extra over Drambo before committing.

  • I already have Drambo, so this definitely isn't cheaper in that regard. I do like the idea of just dropping this into AUM and being ready to roll.

Then again, Drambo's p-locks and so on are amazing.

  • at first glance the interface reminded me of Midi Pattern Sequencer by Igor Vasiliev... wow
What trip to the land of vanished apps lol

Posted as link because the forum is acting up 😑

  • so can this be used in an arppegiator mode? or is the keyboard at the bottom just for note input into the sequencer?

You're not wrong though. In an ideal world (read: on the desktop), devs can easily and conveniently charge for upgrades, so they are more motivated to keep on improving their product beyond fine-tuning and bugfixing the first version. 🙂

  • I’m ready to pay for ‘new features’ but bug-fixes that are more than likely the result of rush-to-market sloppy coding not so much…

Just reading through the manual as we speak. I think it is only for note input and my first impression is that this is more aimed at drums than melody but as I get deeper into the manual may be proved wrong in this. It's very powerful. I'd need to spend more time with it before deciding what I think of the workflow

I don't think any/many of us would mind paying for upgrades... Some of the GREAT Apps are less than a cup of Starbucks Coffee.

Seems it is more about Drum, the little I played with it. Wishing for melodic Seqs... MidiDreams has a unique Key/Transpose feature...

Very true. But Apple doesn't care about any/many of us and doesn't develop the App store to make this possible. 🤷

  • Definitely more for drums

  • Does this app support step recording ? All I can see is that I have to choose the position of every single step manually, and that there seems to be no auto advance of the input cursor/position. I hope I’m wrong, because that’s a very clumsy way of entering notes into a sequencer.

Version history shows it now has auto advance.

    Anyone have this?

Yes, it has this now, but only when pressing the step entry button. So you still have to press two keys (the note on the keyboard, and the entry button). I contacted Achillefs, the developer about this, and we might get proper step recording. He is very open to feedback.
