Thanks for your replies. It’s a testament to Cubasis that even given the glitch no matter how hard I stray and dabble with other DAWs I always come back to it. For me it’s the one that I actually get work completed with so thanks for that.

So far my biggest issue with cubasis, at least for me, is automation recording overwrite. Renders it useless. And this is what has had to be fixed long time ago BUT it is still there. With all the updates, it is not addressed. Just put a loop and keep recording a knob movement until it sounds good (like what I would do in Gadget, Drambo etc.). But you go try that in Cubasis and see what happens (total mess). Not fixed. Look, I mean wtf
More bugs revealed today - a new project loads with absent grid, no possibility to resize the working area and no playhead visible at all.
Iphone ios14, Ipad ios 16 same shit. Do you even test before release?
I mean, come on.. It cost actual money, this app, and I didn't get a refund only in hope the automation stuff will be fixed some day - also seen it posted by someone on Steinberg Cubasis forum, this bug. Well, still waiting, thanks.

This is how it records automation overwrite in loop mode from AU knob:

which is perfect. If only you could fix it to work in same way with AU knobs, would be awesome
Absent grid/no resize bug is random, I got it today twice by creating new project and also by opening recent "new project". Don't know now how to simulate it to repeat 100%.
Apple will not refund as the purchase done long time ago. I also have almost all IAPs and H-delay which is great on PC is almost impossible to precisely control in Cubasis. You simply cannot dial lower time values as the controls are so jumpy. Ended up not using it, a shame.
Having the possibility would also like to say that I would happily pay IAP for full mixer emulation with busses, where you can have proper sends (actually on mixer channels like in real life), with fx stacking, and feed them back into mixer channel and again into same send (feedback loops) and record into tracks real-time. Would be a fantasy come true and an endless happiness.

I’ve been having the same issue here and can reproduce it.
Zoom in so that the play head is offscreen to the right, close cubasis. Reopen and zooming is unresponsive, even using the zoom panel. Moving the play head with the transport controls makes everything work again.

@LFS thanks for the update, especially the Bluetooth thing. Presumably I don’t have to tell cubasis I’m using Bluetooth and more? The amount of times I wondered why it sounded so shit before realising I forgot to switch it!

I am frankly blown away. Lars @LFS & the Steinberg team have really listened to user feedback and implemented a huge amount of changes and fixes.
I have been asking about disabling the way the locators move when you touch a region too long for literally years. Adding a selection in the settings is a perfect solution, allowing those who like it to keep it.
Yes there's bound to be bugs and hiccups but they'll get worked out. All in all this is an excellent update. I sincerely appreciate Steinberg's continued support of Cubasis.
You are not alone, i have the exact same problem with this bug on 12” M1 pad.
Also have occasionally experienced this. Not so far with Cubasis 3.5. iPad Air 5.
Thanks for taking the time to reply it helps me realise that I’m not experiencing a one person vendetta by my damn machines! Happens twice again yesterday on the new update. I’m no also now finding slower loading times on some tracks. At this point a just sit 🙏🏼 in the hope my track returns. It does but it doesn’t help my stress levels.

Guess we're just a bit more picky than the 'average user'
@LFS I can understand the frustration about the new 'HUB' so it does call for an option in the settings...
First of all when on cellular it will eat data for those on limited data-plans!
It's also a slowdown if Cubasis happens to crash and one just quickly re-launches it again to get back to work only to be met by the 'hub'. So a setting to toggle between using the 'Hub' or 'Most Recent Project' on startup should be added.
As someone already noted the 'new project' template has its playhead 'outside of the screen' which makes the horizontal zoom un-responsive. My solution here is to hit the 'rewind' button and things go back to normal.
(The dev-team should check the template that is being used for 'new' projects and reset the playhead location, or automatically rewind playhead on project load).
The AUv3 knob recording has been mentioned and documented in some of the above posts so it should be corrected.
One of my personal gripes is that the audio editor still doesn't have an option to auto-select the content of an audio-event that has been chopped or adjusted on the time-line.
Let's say I split an audio file (4 bar loop) into 4 chunks in the arranger, ie. 1 bar each.
Now I want to create a new file of 'bar 3', In almost every single DAW I've come across I can simply open bar 3 in the audio editor, hit 'trim' and get a new file with a copy of bar 3 while the original file remains untouched.
As Cubasis has no 'play back direction(forward/reverse)' nor '+/- clip gain' for audio-events so it's essential to be able to extract a portion of a file to a new file for further editing without too much hassle with exports to media bay and back.
And as some have mentioned there are some interesting things happening when using the Files.app pop-over to drag-in a file that is being used by the Cubasis project to another place in the project...
This leads to an option in the media bay to show 'Project Files' present in the current project as it's not yet possible in the Cubasis media bay to access the audio-files being used by the active project nor import audio from other projects...
Files.app is needed.
While Drag'n'Drop in TO Cubasis is nice, being able to 'Drag Out' from Cubasis would be much appreciated!
This would make it a breeze to drag an audio (or on-the-fly rendered midi event) to a third party Sampler...
(So bring on the Cubase Sampler Track as an IAP to Cubasis already).
But I'm happy that clearing the undo history now also properly deletes all temporary audio-files that are no longer needed!
I still like Cubasis for what it brings to the iPhone/iPad (and support-hellish Android) but I do most of my Audio work in Logic on the Mac and treat the iPad as an 'Instrument'.

Since this update, I’ve seen quite a lot of complaining in the various online iOS music forums about the features we didn’t get. Most notably, the lack of a tempo track, mono mixdown or the introduction of awesome sampling features. The first 2 remain my biggest hopes every update and have been the most common user requests since Cubasis 2 was in its infancy. These 2 things would mean that I could actually do session work on the road when I can’t get to my pc and would allow me to produce all tracks I’m working on, no matter where I am - not just the ones with rigid tempo. So, I was a little disappointed too but having used Cubasis 3 for a couple of days with the new update, I’m really happy. It runs so smoothly and the new features, whilst they are not super exciting, mind blowing stuff - do improve speed of workflow and make for a very enjoyable user experience. Steinberg continue to improve the app and make it more and more slick. Most of the big names in desktop music software won’t touch iOS yet because it isn’t that profitable, it’s a small market and iOS musicians want everything for £5, but Steinberg have been with us a long time and haven’t abandoned their software like a lot of the others - they continue to listen and improve things and I’m very grateful for that. I also think that being rude to Lars is very poor behaviour and is the kind of thing that happens all too often in this forum and is what keeps numerous developers away from it. So I’ll say what everyone else ought to be saying, thank you Lars and thank you Steinberg.

We (at least me) honestly need to get a bit more facts about the small team and how many Cubasis copies that are actually out there as this would help us all to better understand the overall situation and that will be a huge help when it comes to 'expectation management'. It's impossible to make everyone happy and that's a fact...
I sometimes get the feeling that if Cubasis was all about money there would be LOT more use-case specific IAPs...
...as I've already got every IAP it makes me feel that the development is more or less in 'idle/support/bug-fix mode' and the new features are postponed until further notice, but that's me...
2023 will be an interesting year and time will tell where things go...

763 tracks now, all done in Cubasis with nary a problem (that wasn’t of my own making).
Frankly, I don’t need any more updates to accomplish my modest goals (one of which is 1000 tracks made with Cubasis), but I can appreciate the sophisticated needs of many users. I guess their desire is that Cubasis answers every requirement that a serious desktop music producer has. I’m totally confident you and the team will get there. Thanks for this amazing tool, bro!
Lars I’m sorry not to be able to do what you request. In terms of slow loading it was a completed track which I’m looking to remix so I went to my newest pro M1 iPad hit the new browse button found the track hit the track then…….ages. Shut everything down tried again….ages but eventually yabadabadoo it was there in all its ‘needs to be redone’ glory 😰 hopefully it will sort itself out. On the plus side the track that I kept getting erase issues with got released today. A total Cubasis job. As I’ve said it’s my first love Cubasis warts and all!
Don't know if anyone else is seeing this, but trying to load IAAs is simply one crash after another (started out with Synthmaster Player & Synthmaster 1, but then having the same trouble with everything else I've tried...). Presume it's just teething troubles...
In order for IAA to work reliably you need to launch the IAA app first before trying to make any connections to them.
All mentioned apps are also AUv3 so why go thru the torture of using them as IAA?
(It's always possible to freeze the midi to audio when that is needed).
