if you are a legal user of v1
the beta of v2 is in your account at
https://www.tracktion.com/
at "beta"
If you don't own the desktop version it's worth getting, specially now v2 is coming. I'm guessing there'll be a decent upgrade discount for users who purchased v1 just before the new version drops, although this is determined by Tracktion rather than Mark.
as far as I know
v2 is free for v1 users...
but do ask Mark
Not sure - prices for desktop are set by Tracktion - I'll check with Mark though...
Wanna play with the Beta, but also don’t want to spoil the surprise. Decisions, decisions…
Okay, great. I have the desktop version 1, but only as a trial edition. So I will probably have to wait for access to the beta.
Sweet got the desktop version will have to give the beta ago.
I'd say go for it - there's some really good updates that take it to a new level and as far as I can see it's pretty stable.
I’m getting the feeling it’s about ready to drop, no
Fingers crossed...🤞
Not to worry! Got it to work
Hi, just to let you know the desktop v2 will probably be released before the iOS v2. Beta for v2 iOS is closed for now I'm afraid.
Anybody with a v1 desktop licence can try the v2 desktop beta. (if you get a 'malicious software' warning on Mac you can use this guide to override https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/mac-help/mchleab3a043/mac, this will be corrected soon, notarisation woes)
Thanks!
Just to confirm: We are able to re-install V1 should we decide to wait to upgrade, right?. The Beta replaced my V1, in Logic
Huh, I didn't realise the installer did this (thank you beta gods!). It seems that the installer removes the previous spacecraft vst files. So if you reinstall v1 it will revert back. I will need to stop the installer from doing this as people will want to have both spacecraft versions installed.
Note that installing either spacecraft doesn't impact your user audio and presets which can be seen from both versions.
Ah, well...happy to be able to contribute in some small way No rush, really. Just would prefer to not have my app revert to a demo once the Beta is finished.
I'll update at some point, but will likely update on iOS first (SpaceCraft is one of only three apps that i bought on both platforms).
@deltaVaudio
so the update to v2 on desktop will be free ?!
I intend to make it either a free upgrade (or maybe a very low upgrade fee) for users with v1 license.
V2.1.27 is available that fixes issues with the installer.
@el_bo @enkaytee @Jumpercollins @andowrites Please update to this version before saving any projects with SC2 beta as I had to change the plugin code and SC2 will need to be reloaded in existing projects.
I’ve been having a few issues with VST’s on my M1 Mac Mini, since updating to the latest version of Ableton, and hardly any AUv3’s are working. For some reason I seem to have issues most others aren’t experiencing (e.g. Drambo not working at all).
The Spacecraft (v1) VST however still works absolutely perfectly, which is a relief as it’s one of my most used, and cherished plug-ins.
Would you be able to provide a ‘trial’ or separate version I could test, before buying? I don’t want to risk mucking up my workflow!
whats new in v2
and it blew me away!
Modular Panels
Swap out the existing panels with a selection of new panels including scrubber, randomiser, stereo effect and delay effect.
Now the GUI can show two extra panels on screen.
Amplitude Envelope Sequencer
A post-granulation gater effect with variable envelope shape which syncs to tempo.
MIDI Transpose
Transpose all notes on the grid via MIDI. This includes a very musical diatonic mode which alters all transposed notes to be within the scale chosen (found on notes grid settings).
Gesture Recorder
Spacecraft will remember and play back any interaction with the panels. This can be synched to tempo.
MIDI Learn
A more convenient way to map MIDI CCs.
The modular panels and Gesture recorder
made it my instrument of choice for ambient granular live acts.
( we'll have one in Belgrade in june )
I hope the final release ov v2 will be out soon.
I cant find any bugs
Mark- you did a mindblowing job with this update!!!!!
Thank you !!!!!!!!
There is a new beta available for V1 license holders (in your Tracktion account). There's always an element of risk with a beta but you can uninstall it by manually deleting the VST/AU files if you come across any issues. SC2 doesn't impact your user audio and presets from SC1 and can access them, same for the iOS version.
Always wanted to try Spacecraft but never got the chance. Excited to get v2.
Great, thanks Mark.
Just done it. Thanks for the heads-up
p.s Will the manual be updated, on release?
yes, on release, something I'm dreading
Reminder for desktop V2 early adopters: please update to V2.1.27 before using SC2 beta in any projects as I had to change the plugin code
The scrubber is possibly my favourite new feature - combined with infinite sampling it's capable of creating some incredible sound mangling...
It's my favourite app already, and I almost can't imagine how it can get better...so excited about trying the beta...
Only had a quick mess around yesterday, and didn't work out any of this. Thanks to your list, I've found some stuff. Really enjoying the sequencer and delay. Now I just need to find the rest. Thanks
Still find the Sample Zoom/Navigation bar a bit confounding, and still wish both sides of the filter trapezoid could be adjusted (Perhaps with a modifier key) so both lo and hi-pass can be sculpted at the same time...without having to sacrifice one of the module spaces
