  • This looks great but the lack of Ableton Link or even midi clock in is a major limitation.

  • Wow. These looks mighty interesting. Thanks for the link as i haven’t heard of his apps before.

  • Looks very interesting, but for me far too pricey for an app with no AUv3 version, no MIDI clock sync, and no Video demo available. I am not even sure if it runs in the background, because it's companion app sqsl temp does not.

  • If it runs on iOS 9.3.5, I've got a pad I could dedicate to it, but even then... that's a steeply-priced app. Likely due to it only catering to a niche user base.

  • Demo from sesqual YouTube

Thank you I dug but only found empty spaces.
Do you also have demos of his other sequence?

  • The above Video is for sqsl temp the link is for sqsl latch. Latch version is the latest but there appears to be no present demo out there which is a shame.

  • These both look very interesting, real pity they aren’t AUv3

  • Did anyone ever try out his first sequencer, Temp? I'm having major gas for both of these despite the lack of auv3 etc

  • They definitely both look interesting, AUv3 always welcome but not a deal breaker for hardware people, in fact it’s sometimes simpler when they’re standalone, not sure I’ll take a punt at the moment though but I’d always like to try them out…

  • I actually grabbed Latch, can’t get a single sound out of it lol, am sending out on Latch virtual output, then trying to receive that in AUM or various standalone synths, but no banana so far, not sure what I could be doing wrong

There’s no AUM as target option in it is there? That’s how xequence handles it I think…

Ha! Now AUM is appearing as a target, it wasn’t before, sweet, maybe I can actually get something going now, cheers Krupa!

  • This thing is really fabulous!

    Oh no 😅

I left a comment on the devs YouTube and he responded so I left a link to this thread.

Hopefully they’ll show up here and receive warm welcomes and then be pestered to death about features/AU

Politely I hope - you guys can be rough ;)

I like the UI, be interested to know what’s unique about it, that can’t be done with existing sequencer apps…

  • I’m trying hard not to think you don’t have the same (roll your own) functionality in Drambo, and trying to find an excuse to get one by wanting to pair with a drone synth like Shoom

    @Gavinski @echoopera

Hahah. Yeah. I haven’t decided on this app. It looks cool but I’m not sure what it will give me that i don’t already have with Drambo.

Thought it might be… do you have his other sequencer?
Just bought Sand and really enjoying that so far.
Love to see what you do with this one.

I did just get my hands on his other sequencer, but gonna focus on latch properly first! I’m trying to make the dev aware of how many more of these he could sell if he at the very least let it run in the background, if it could receive midi clock etc, never mind even the lack of IAA or auv3. I reckon though that he may be one of those devs that made this mostly for himself and his own use cases and probably has a decent job that means it’s not important to him how many of these he shifts. Just a guess!

Sand is not my cup of tea at the moment and won’t be until it handles midi sequencers etc and also allows apps to produce their own audio - eg you can’t play a Splat to Clat preset in Sand currrently. The design is lovely but it has too many limitations for me in its current form. You need to play everything in via the keyboard and that is just not my personal usual way of working.

  • got LATCH - it is indeed amazing:)

Ihave got sand to work with Snakebud use an APC40 has a midi controller to send a play and record message to Sand and AUM.
And yes your probs right he made them for his own live stuff, look cool though

Do you have both sequencers from sane dev?

  • Toastedghost: nop. only LATCH

You like? I struggle to understand the difference between the two sequencers

  • edited December 2022

TEMP seems to be a more "normal" step sequencer
while LATCH is hm... sort of morphing/fading sequencer...
    hard to describe.

    wait for Gavinski's videos!

Knew you would like it. I’m bloody overwhelmed with vids I want to make at the moment lol so don’t hold your breath but I will defo do a vid on latch at some point!

  • got also TEMP now.
its very very good too- you can controll everything in depth.
even the clock speed for a step...

TEMP is less cryptic than LATCH. just so you know ...:)
but if you play with both and read the screenshots brief docs on his page
    its quite logical:)
